Thank you for the lengthy (very informative for me) reply.
Manila is 8 hours from here and I'm sure there are milling centers there but the distance/travel is unbearable. Perhaps I can try hand...
Double post. Sorry.
Extrusion are next to impossible to find here. The reason I would like to use the profile rails is i think it would be a great improvement over my old cnc's linear motion. I just measured the...
I didn't know mounting them would be that complicated. And how on earth do I achieve .002 flatness without the proper tools? Mills are non-existent here in our place so I may have to try epoxy...
I somehow got my cue that it is possible while reading joescnc2006 77lb gantry. He said he's getting 60ipm cutting speed from only a single 200 oz-in stepper and 1/2 10 acme screw. I guess I have to...
I have posted twice in the OPEN SOURCE section but my posts disappeared. I'm trying again here.
Please help me choose which of these mounting positions is better. This is for a woodrouting 48" x...

Nice machine! I'm about to start an aluminum/steel rebuild since I've found an aluminum plate supplier in good old T. Alonzo St...
I just called the supplier and THK HSR15 are available. From reading in the zone these are better than the NSK LS15 or the THK SR15 as they can take loads from all direction. My cnc router is small...
I'm about to buy these (used) but is the 15mm rail size ok for the Z? And I'm afraid I can find more of these and be tempted to use 'em for all axis. This is my machine, cutting wood and maybe...
DIY CNC router Build log Sorry, mostly in our language.
It has a 40"x30" cutting dimension. It can go 250IPM on all axis but have set it to 200. More than 20 acce in mach3 makes it vibrate. I'm in...
Oh.. Thanks for the warning. It really pays to do your research/ask questions before buying/building.
As long as it spins at or near 350RPM I'll be a happy camper. I'm hoping to get a huge lower speed torque difference over the hobbyCNC board. Thanks for the reply.
Thanks for the quick reply. I have the 36V at hand and exchanging the transformer to arrive at 48V would be easy. Even then, this driver is still the best alternative for the Gecko540 IMHO.
Hi,
I have the HobbyCNC motors (425oz in, 3Amp, 4.2V, 3.2mH) fed with 36V. What would its oz-in rating will be if I use the thb6064 driver with it?
And how do you wire motor power to 4...

My hobbycnc pro stopped working. There's only 1.2v at the 24v fan output and almost the same at the 5v pad. All voltage regulators are fine,so do the other parts connected to the power supply. I...
Haha I found the culprit! The Parallel cable!
It's not moving although I can hear it hiss and has holding power because I can't turn the screw. Did I just blow chip? I didn't see nor smell smoke. I swapped motors and connectors between X and A....
0.1? haha i mean questions that may help newbies like me.
I did not become a member of dave's forum. PLease post your questions and I'll help in every way I can. I'm quite lucky with my build.

Thanks. I can't find a heatsink paste nearby so I have to go to the city this week end. The hardware part is quite manageable. I hope the software part too. I'll be using linuxCNC, heeksCNC, freemill...
I finally assembled the kit and all went well considering my noobiness. As long as you follow, i mean FOLLOW RELIGIOUSLY the included instruction, theres no reason for trouble. Is it ok to put it in...
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've been reading the docs closely and maybe g5x are what i'm referring to. I still have alot to learn though.
Does linuxcnc have a refresh/regenerate g-code after you, let's say, just did a work offset operation like Mach3 have? The gcode being used was generated with, say, 0 at left bottom corner and I'd...
