  1. Re: X6 -1500 USB skipping steps - alternate software idea

Opps...I forgot. I had to change bearings in one of my steppers as well.... It felt rough when I spun it in my hand.
  2. Re: X6 -1500 USB skipping steps - alternate software idea

    I've got the same machine.
Do you lube your rails at all? If they are dry try some light machine oil and test again.

With the machine powered down, wind all the axis's for full travel both ways....

Re: Ball screw brake options on cross slide

I won't comment on your beauty, but my first thought was to just have the ballscrew and stepper, and use a MPG as a electronic handwheel?
I guess you won't have any 'feel' when your machining. That...

Re: Help whats wrong with my spindle?

My guess is that you have a bad bearing in your spindle. The cap spins due to resonance.

    Your welcome.lol
  6. Re: need help for Connect the machine to the laptop

Looks like you need to find the USB driver and install it. Nothing in the documentation that mentions that?
A quick google bought up a post mentioning the CH340 driver. Ring a bell?

Re: constant stopping for no reason

Good pickup Roger. I had not thought of that, because my machine uses 24VDC for the I/O, but they are valid comments.

Re: Stopping oiler when machine is idle

Control the Oiler via a relay contact on your VFD, so it comes on when the VFD starts the motor, and fit an electronic timer configured to give a 10min delay off when the contact opens on the VFD.
  12. Re: Looking for beginner cnc machine to engrave bullet casings.

    How much is 'inexpensive'?
    Where are you located?
A 4 axis CNC router will do the job. Laser will need to be 4 axis as well.( Don't know if they even exist.)
No experience with brass, but I would...

    Re: How important are these?

Hi Sterob - The issue with a "composite" beam is the loadpath efficiency. Its difficult to predict the loadpath. One element of the beam maybe doing all the work, it won't load share evenly. Maximus'...

Re: My CNC has gone CRAZY please help

    Here's an easy test.
Remove the stepper motors and wind the ballscrew, by hand ,full travel, in both directions.
If you feel any binding at particlar points in any direction, they need to be fixed.

Re: constant stopping for no reason

Maybe check all your terminations for tightness. Something may have come loose on the way over.
