  2. Can I cut a bit of the z-lead screw on a Taig mill?

    Hello ygorek!
If I send you a jpg picture of a face, can you then make a relieff out of that?
  7. Re: Which stepper motor size for Taig Z-axis?

What do you mean about z gib? Is that the nut around the lead screw, or the clamps on the sides of the slide? I recently tighten it up in order to avoid backlash, so it could be the reason for this...
  8. Which stepper motor size for Taig Z-axis?

My Taig Z-axis stepper loses step if I set up the speed to more than 20 inch/min, so maybe I need a stronger motor. I use Gecko 540 as driver and need to know which size of stepper motor I can use in...

Re: How do I configure the A-axis settings?

I think this setting made my rotary table to move a full rotation for each line in a generated toolpath as you can see in another post in vectric forum: Vectric Forum • View topic - Is my 3D rotary...

Re: How do I configure the A-axis settings?

My drivers are Gecko 540. I´ve understood that it has 10 microsteps, so the formula for me will then be: 10 x 200 x 72 = 144000 divided with 72 rotations = 2000 steps per unit.

    Will that be the...

Re: How do I configure the A-axis settings?

    Ok!
So far, so good. But which values do I need to set in the Motor Tuning and Setup/A-axis motor movement profile?
My rotary table requires 72 rotations from the stepper motor in order to move...

Re: Red "fault" light is lighting on my G540.

I have the old version without plastic body. Do you know which components it is which has been damaged? It will then be much cheaper to change some components than a whole driver.

Re: Red "fault" light is lighting on my G540.

I tried another time with a new driver and this time the same happened when I turned the tuning potmeter all the way to one end in order to get rid of the ticking noise, so I believe it was the same...

Re: Red "fault" light is lighting on my G540.

    OK, I understand!

So maybe it will be better to solder the wires from the drivers directly to the stepper wires instead of using a plug in that area in order to prevent damages like that?

Re: Red "fault" light is lighting on my G540.

I didn´t connect a to b, but I´ve found that maybe one of the wires had a loose connection. Could that be a possible reason?

Re: Red "fault" light is lighting on my G540.

The new 57BYGH78-401B stepper motor was a 4 wired bipolar motor. I connected it wrong by connecting the -a to +a and visa versa, and did the same with the b wires, so I didn´t get the motor to run...

Re: Red "fault" light is lighting on my G540.

I´m not sure but do you think it will be possible to get a motor to run in both directions if it´s wrong connected? I will try to remove the driver later and see what happens then.

Re: Red "fault" light is lighting on my G540.

That´s how it was connected, but when I connected the red and yellow wires together, it made a shortcut to one of the coils because these wires are the end wires of that coil on my motor. So I assume...

Re: Red "fault" light is lighting on my G540.
