Re: ER16 "Quick" Change Collet Chuck System

Yes the actual Dyna ones I have just have a bore for the specific tool diameter.
They dont use an additional ER16.
Much shorter stickout than these but still lock in with the same kind of clover...

Re: ER16 "Quick" Change Collet Chuck System

    Mactec, very similar concept.
Always wondered why Sherline didnt run with it. Dyna had it figured out for a manual repeatable tool change.

Marty mind if I share these on the Sherline site? I have a set of the Dyna's and always thought they were a great idea.

On a lathe? If so, simple to do by moving the carriage and the Y over and over.

Always knew you had issues, saw the swollen hands in the videos and could hear your breathing efforts.
Glad to hear you are doing well. Hiking beats sitting any day.

    Re: DM 2400 refit.

I believe I want to put this machine up for sale.
It is not operational at the moment as I was about to remove the gear reductions. I have the Griftek stepper mounts that allow that conversion, a...
  10. Dyna Myte 3000 lathe and Dyna 2200 mill information.

Did you get the dongle (they required a dongle and that is never acquired).
The steppers will work but are very underpowered by todays standards.
Steppers are cheap, update them unless your machine...

I am watching! This is one of the short falls of flashcut IMO. Who doesnt want or need a real MPG at the machine? You are using the wireless model? I run 1 of those rebranded for Centroid, they work...

    Re: sensing program zero

I know nothing about making the scripts or even how to install them other than loading GCode.
Mach was a little different and I could find screens and options, FC not so much ;-)

Thanks so much for the reply! In my case the Y seems to take a - number using the recommendation. I wonder if my Y is backwards?

    Re: sensing program zero

Is this the center finding routine?
If so when I run it, there is a dialog box at the end of the process that shows 2 different decimals.
They appear to be the amounts of correction needed in the...

Since the only thing you changed was the pc, I suspect it.
You are using the parallel port?
Many machines had issues when XP went from real time.

The power supply is required for your switches. If you were using mechanical switches an additional power supply wouldnt be needed. Leadshines manuals are confusing in my opinion. I have a 3660 with...

From everything I read the enable pins dont have to be used. If you do use them, there is an extra layer of protection. How to wire the enable pin on a stepper drive?

  27. Re: MAXNC-10 mini cnc mill software? pre year 2000 model

A probe is just a simple electronic switch. Insulate a piece of drill rod in a holder, connect a wire to it from the input pin.

Re: Backplate adapter for 4" chuck

Both routes would be ok depending on your skill level. I would think you could skim cut the prebuilt one on your lathe to correct most issues.
