Re: Heidenhain LC series Encoder Wiring

I don't have my Heidenhain catalogues now, but they mainly produced the standard quadrature enc, or the linear absolute versions.
The quickest would be to just send an email to Heidenhain support ,...

Re: pin out pulse coder A860-0360-v501

Syncros are quite a bit different than quadrature encoders, they operate with two sine waves, calculating the co-tangent between the two.
    No re-alignment to do.

Re: pin out pulse coder A860-0360-v501

I have never seen one using a reference, you are better off going to or converting to quadrature encoder.

Re: pin out pulse coder A860-0360-v501

Generally the proprietary encoders are used on the AC (Red-Cap) servo's.
The DC generally used a standard quadrature encoder.
Not sure of your description of the encoder?
    Would need the Fanuc...

    Re: Toroidal Transformer hookup

Well various sources of the manual available show 24v to 80v DC, "A regulated (SMPS) or un-regulated supply may be used, preferably UN-Regulated due to its ability to withstand current surges"

    Re: Toroidal Transformer hookup

Surely you have the manual for the drives that show the hook up? see attached.
It states 24VDC to 70VDC (typical 36vdc) You will require a bridge rectifier after the Toroidal. The rectified and...

Re: Reliable CNC Electronics Parts Supplier

For general Electro-Mechanical parts there is Misumi.
Other electronic parts I mainly use Digikey, they have a flat shipping rate of $8.00 or free over $100.00, customs paid.
  13. Re: Type of motors are used in Mitsubishi machine tools

They are the modern type of motor, PM rotors, they are AC synchronous servo's.
  14. Re: New machine - G540 - 110V Huanyang VFD - Chinese spindle 1.5kW

    Re: connecting shielding

The vast majority of my work was for customers, so I could not afford Intermittent problems.
I used one of the very best shielded cables for encoders etc.

  16. Re: 220v Chinese motor both hot leads need to be 220v?

Not as efficient and can have problems under load, this is how RPC Rotary phase convertors work.
  17. Re: 220v Chinese motor both hot leads need to be 220v?

    Definitely wrong if 3ph motor!
  18. Re: 220v Chinese motor both hot leads need to be 220v?

N.A. 1ph is 120v-0v-120v with the 0v being the neutral, for 240v 1ph , you connect to each of the 120v.
That motor appears to show 3ph?

I also used what was then the Telemecanique brand of P.B. Switches etc.ZB2/XB2 series, I see that China is now making a knock-off of them.
  21. Re: Circuit Breakers and Contactors Vendors and Brands

The enclosures I build uses DIN rail mount devices, It used to be Telemecanique brand contactors etc, , which is now produced by Group Schneider.

    Re: Grounding VFD

Yes, normally you would set up a star ground point that includes the system Earth conductor.
Both VFD GND ands the VFD cable shield would be connected at this point.
    There is also a recommendation...

The harm is often when the rotor is removed from the stator.
