I only work with 6061 T6 ... actually , is MIC-6 ( has the surfaces milled from the factory , the thickness is controlled and stable ) . I tried some 7075 also ,
but my endmills were not very happy...

O.K guys ... this is it !!! First test , no B.S , no advance preparing , no nothing ...just played with the MDI , no G-code .
Aligned the fixture fairly true and straight ( around 0.05mm deviation...

Spindle ( bearings , retaining nut and 60 teeth timing pulley ) , and the aluminium plates needed for the job ... Is going
to be heavy ... around 10Kg . Hope this will not be a...

The protection of the bearings is a problem ... I don't have room for any sort of sealing ( if you refer to rubber rings ...I am not sure ...

Thinking about what ' wizzard' said , I made some tweaks ... the bearing block is wider now ( 50mm instead 38mm ) . I also made some
renderings to illustrate the usefulness of the third bearing...

I have noticed that you noticed my design ... but I have to tell you , that mill is not intended for steel ... only aluminium .
The base structure is not going to support heavy machining in...

That's corect , the Al extrusion is not perfectly flat ... I will do the exact thing that you described ( skimming the surfaces ) .
