slide covers I meant to say
spindle noise is the obvious thing to look for but how do the ballscrews bearings sound when you jog ? What state are the slides in , will they leak coolant out the back of the machine when using...
I like the older controls better than the newer ones myself . I used to run a vf2 that was somewhere around the same yr and saw minimal issues with it . Good machine overall .
used machines are like used cars
if it runs smooth and makes a decent part then 5k is a pretty good deal on a vf2
if you can hit them with a list of bugs then they very well may , but you need to push your way through to tech to get the fix you need .
same here , until I complained enough about bug fixes which are supposed to be free being held hostage in updates , then they eventually put me through to the tech guys . Thats the road block I was...
new members might need admin approval ??
rolling bug fixes into updates is unfair and it's usually the reason for an update . New features just get added to the next version
I will give credit to a few of the support guy though because...
censorship ??? where ?
bobcad had a forum a number of years ago , it was unsupported and because of that was basically a ghost town . How will this be different from before ? I mean no offense but curious
I'm not familiar with the new setup but can you not just cut the wires and put in a toggle switch ?
it'll be interesting to see what happens in the future . I remember the days when made in Japan meant cheap trash goods , quite similar to the position China is in . We all know where Japanese...
Not sure what gives the impression that I have no knowledge of servos
, I just don't see it as cost effective or any really benefit on what I consider to be toy machines . I don't disagree with...
I believe that steppers will continue to be used until servos come down to the same market price as steppers , which I don't see happening any time soon .
Steppers may not be near the same speed...
$4 ?? I've never seen a servo retrofit system sold for the same price as a stepper motor system
the difference between the base 770m and the 770mx is 9k . My preference would be to buy 2 stepper...
I think the machines sort of cover that .
A guy can put a few stepper run tormachs in a shop vs a single haas mini mill which is pretty much the lowest end mill in the industrial market . They...
These mills are so basic that it's not difficult to diagnose any problem . Personally I only needed support for warranty parts , that time has passed and they failed when I needed them . When the...
Steve , my experience with tormach doesn't go back that far , but I will say that I bought because of the feedback I saw over the yrs from guys like yourself and others .
For what it's worth the...
no offense but I see things differently .
I order and pay for chicken balls and rice from your restaurant
I wait long time , 2 hour delivery .
You send me box with chicken bone .
I go to...
I come to realize that the only way to get help is to call .
I won't even get into the bs I had to deal with to get a quote to purchase a replacement motor a few weeks ago . They seriously need to...
I don't know about the 450 with yasnac but I used to work on an ev650 with fanuc . They build a really solid machine that can handle heavy nasty materials . We did a lot of heavy machining and...
it's a good deal for having the basics . I can't remember what 3d options it allows in the express version but I think it gives parallel tool paths and possibly equidistant offset
The sales team...
does creo give the option of modifying your post ? A generic fanuc post with a couple slight mods should do the job .
I've been using bobcad for a long time and it gets the job done for anything I...
Since you bought through a retailer then it makes some sense that you'd have to deal through them . I'm sure artsoft won't leave you out in the cold if the retailer shuts down or becomes a problem
What artsoft has to gain is that you likely won't find a working version of mach 4 on a torrent site , nor will you see millions of cheap chinese engravers being sold with mach 4 software . Mach 3 on...
I've taken apart a number of steppers for curiosity reasons and they are never the same afterwards . If the motor turns then it will have a fraction of the torque it had in the past .
I recently...
I've used flat bottom insert drills many times to hog out large pockets and they are extremely efficient . The nice thing about them is that they can clear a pocket similar to a plunge mill , vs a...
The reason you saw a g40 on the control is the same reason a g90 and g80 is there , it's a default safety upon start up and similar to the safety line at the program header which cam programs...
you got a paper weight , stepper motors don't like to be taken apart
This may be a shot in the dark
Have you got your xml backed up somewhere ? I haven't had that issue but I have had a few odd issues with mach and reloading the xml usually resolved any strange...
