No paperwork, sorry. They do look similar. You could email axyz automation and ask as they bought out camtech.

The one thing I would look at carefully is the z axis. It was a complete piece of...

    Re: Retrofitting a $1000 1992(!) Camtech.

I'd just try switching out the drivers and start again from that point. Drivers are cheap and whereas keeping motors helps keep everything else together (trust me on that one!), drivers can be...

Re: losing steps between layers on 1 axis

15mm is a lot of steps out.

Yes, swapping components is easiest to test.

Swap wires first, drivers second, motors themselves last and test (when the motors are off) for how much force is needed...
  4. Tool Management with Syntec control for commercial Chinese CNC routers w. ATC

    Hello everyone,

I don't post much but did a few weeks back asking about tool management in syntec controls, specifically about macros that might actually use the syntec's build in tool management...
  5. Re: Laser fill missing fill always in the same place (see pictures)

Try creating a box fully across the text on the weak parts and fill that. If it works, you can take out any optics issue.

Then it's either the tube is wonky or power supply not getting the...

    Re: ATC

Generally, it's option B, the control holds the tool information and the cam just assigns the tool number to the toolpath.

However, with some cam you could probably have all the info on the cam...
  7. Re: Taiwan - SYNTEC - 6MB or 6MA - Controller Discussions

I think I have another way to handle this..... probably a better way.

I might post the procedure when I'm ready as it should be suitable for any ATC setup.

    Re: ATC

You set up the tool # (ie which tool on the rack it is) either with the tool information and/or can edit the toolpath specific tool info.

Same place you would change the speeds and feeds.

    The...
  9. Re: Taiwan - SYNTEC - 6MB or 6MA - Controller Discussions

I haven't searched yet, but has anyone worked on a tool change macro that can reassign the tool numbers based on the tool manager in the controller?

Right now, T1 through T8 for my carousel the...
  10. Re: Taiwan - SYNTEC - 6MB or 6MA - Controller Discussions

So, use absolute values? That's what my machine uses.

My tool offsets are the height from the top of Z to the top of the vac table grid (-11 to -13 inch range)

    The measurement process would be...
  11. Re: CNC ESD problem? Z axis randomly shifts lower than projected tool paths

I don't think ESD is the right term, electro magnetic pulse is what I would (and have) called it. It might come from static electricity, but the magnetic pulse is what propagates the issue to another...

Re: Laguna laser cuts are off

    Backlash

The good circle is probably good because of the direction (of Y) the laser was moving to get to the start point.... probably the opposite of the bad circle.

    Tighten your belts and...
  13. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    LOL,

Now I am really reviving an old thread.

As I mentioned here (and happened upon again), I sold the CNT. That buyer had some issues early in Covid and essentially went / got out of business....

    Re: OMTech Laser opinions wanted

If you can return through Amazon, that is probably a good way to go, just know what to check and what the return policy would be.

Re: New build: openbuild / Chinese frakenlaser

So, some of the parts have been coming in. Motors, drivers, enough to remind me I needed encoder cables and didn't buy any so I did that.

I did want to test a easy way to slave two drives...
  17. Re: SHUOGOU CNC Engraving Machine Control Panel

    Gerbl?

It's an open source motion control system, probably what was used with that. I'm not 100% what hardware you could install it in, but presumably one of the bits you have!

    Its the top...
  18. Re: iGolden CNC - buying machine from China, are these components good? Please advise

HQD spindle is a knock off of HSD spindle which is Italian. FYI, price difference should be about 8k so don't get ripped off paying the good price for the knock off.

    However, my HSD spindle died...

Re: Need help for chinese cnc laser

Or it might not be, I had similar issues. I changed the belt, to a us made alternative no less, never got rid of the problem after a lot of time trouble shooting.

And I was isolating the rotation...

New build: openbuild / Chinese frakenlaser

This is just in the planning stages in that the parts (hopefully all of them!) Are ordered.

I have a 1200*900 Chinese laser from about 8-9 years ago but it's never been great for accuracy. I have...

    Re: Retrofitting a $1000 1992(!) Camtech.

To finish this thread, the machine is done. One C35s board died and two replacements (bought a spare) had an issue with that particular batch and my particular batch of UC100. CNC4PC replaced...
  22. Re: Just about to throw this baby out with the bathwater.

Arturo was able to figure out the issue with the C35S board and UC100, apparently a known issue of batches of product that for some reason didn't quite work together. An old issue apparently, just...

Re: Chinease 9Kw HSD ATC Spindle Knockoffs !

I forgot one little bit on the update. The toolholder / change operation is a little more touchy than the HSD.....some of the internal on the tool draw bar I think are not as smooth and I have had to...

Re: Chinease 9Kw HSD ATC Spindle Knockoffs !

Just a quick update on this.

Spindle is still going 1 year or so in. I don't worry about the heat any longer, although it is certainly hotter than the HSD was.

Still have some issues of the...

Re: Acorn + Clearpath = Step input timing error

Glad to hear and see that the setup worked for you and the support here from Teknic.

I had an issue with teknic motors that were setup a little like clearpaths, in that the drives were on the...
  26. Re: Just about to throw this baby out with the bathwater.

I still don't understand why the C88 board isn't working either....that board is simple, the input side is getting steps and dir signals but it's not driving either the master Y or the slave Y.
    ...
  27. Re: Just about to throw this baby out with the bathwater.

    Hi Arturo,

Well, see your email too, but the reasons are listed above.

The boards don't work for me. Rev 1.2 stopped working for Y axis STEP output and two copies of Rev 2 isn't working for Z...
  28. Just about to throw this baby out with the bathwater.

I have been *very* sporadically working on a camtech 4 x 8 router rebuild. it was 95% done 6 years ago and has at times been 100% done and cutting. However, never for long.

    UCCNC software has been...
  29. Re: is it normal to be able to stop the spindle by hand

And 12k is pretty damn fast for a drill. My 3.8kw HSD spindle stalled out drilling at about 5k rpm.....so if you are slower than 12k it's more likely still.

Edit: might have been even lower than...

Re: Omni 1530 ordered and ongoing log of the process

Further to this......you could try to buy a chinese HSD knockoff and use as a quick-change spindle rather than a full ATC. Cheap enough and worthwhile as it would up your flexibility quite easily,...
