OK, thanks. That is about the same as the Series I Interact knee mill I had a while back. Is that from the book or experience?

OK, thanks. That is about the same as the Series I Interact knee mill I had a while back. Is that from the book or experience?
OK, thought someone would have the manual and just be able to look that up.
Anybody know the actual accuracy from experience?
Does anyone know what the claimed positioning accuracy of the HH 2500 controlled 412X was when new? I assume it has HH rotary encoders on SEM motors and belt driven ball screws, like the other...
OK, have to look that up. Are the axis servos digital as well?
Thanks!
Thanks. Are the drives in the Bridgeport DX32 machine analog (+/-10v) or digitally controlled? Thinking maybe of getting one of these and ditching the control for a retrofit.
Does anyone know these machines?
Good or Bad?
They are all box way, no?
Do they have linear scales on the axis or encoders or resolvers?
What is the brand of the drives/motors?
I am looking...
In my opinion the tool table is quite useful, even without a changer. Here's what I did on my Interact:
Get yourself a Haimer Zero Master (or Taster). You will thank yourself forever.
Mount the...
Or know of one for sale? Must be 2500 control or later, preferably 300 or 400 series. Must be in the USA. I know the UK is lousy with these things, but I think its too complicated to bring one over....
OK, an old thread but I have been looking at machines with the Acramatic so I'm looking at this for the first time.
Flash memory is a type of structure called NAND flash, referring to the logic...
Sent you a PM on this table.
On most Heidenhain controls, there is a parameter (MP7460) that controls continuous machining. It is written as an angle in degrees. If the tool path changes less than this angle between moves, the...
OK, thanks again. The Heidenhain I am familiar with and is supported by HH in Chicago. Do you have a guess on how many CFM air the spindle is going to use and also a rough guess on a spindle rebuild?...
Thanks for that. I have not seen the machine in person yet, claimed to be in better than good condition. If one must change the linear rails in a machine like this, is it a bolt-in job, or is there...
Yes, the Heidenhain would have positioning steps to 0.0001 (actually 0.001 mm I guess) and also rigid tapping. But the spindle etc must be set up for it as well. I assume most or all of these were? I...
I am looking at a 1998 TC2 with Heidenhain 370 control. It is a bit hard to find information about some parts of it:
What is the stated positioning accuracy of these machines? 0.0001? 0.0002?
Are...
I sent the control to atechauthority in Los Angeles. They are an authorized Heidenhain repair facility and could turn the control around in a couple of days. Heidenhain in Chicago said 10 days. It...
Hu,
You were right, turning off trailing zeros fixed that problem. But there may be related problems - however I will post those over on the OneCNC forum, since they are not of interest to any but...
I am using the variable DWELL. In the machine cycle dialog I type in "1" and I get "1.0000" if it is set to 4 decimal places. The control quits loading the program at that line, because (as...
Gus, it was "circle data incorrect". Rick at Heidenhain (and HFD) correctly identified it as a rounding error. Apparently the early TNC controls require that the circle math be exactly correct to 4...
This is the sequence:
179 L X4.187 Y-0.969 R0 F48
180 CC X3.989 Y-0.936
181 C X4.189 Y-0.936 DR+ R0 F48
Causes an error "Circle Data Incorrect". Changing the X coordinate in line 181 to 4.190...
The Z pulley on mine was the collet type (taperlock) with 4 socket cap heads. Came loose easily. But I found it was not necessary to remove it to do most anything.
Sorry, should have asked Mk 1? I think the Series II is the same as the Series 1 once you get above the column. And the same as a 2J except for the upside down motor and different housings.
The thing that is rattling is probably not the splines, but rather the high speed clutch. Fixing that probably requires replacing both the spline hub and the pulley hub. Still pretty straight forward.
It is interesting that a field install was described. I think it was standard from the factory on the Interact, but that might explain why the bracket appears to have been misaligned.
I leave the...
It is a series 1? That is, no DC drive, but vari-drive?
If so it is straightforward. The parts inside are all identical to a manual J2 head, you can use that exploded diagram available on the web...
I just went through the whole top end on my R2C3 (same mechanically). The things that can rattle are the motor moving pulley, the spindle moving pulley, the high gear dog clutch, the back gear, and...
The new cylinder seems to be an exact replacement for the old. Different name on it, but I would be surprised if they came from a different assembly line. However, I had to make a new bracket, since...
I put a new air cylinder on the Series 1 rigid ram ($22 from MSC) but in doing so disturbed the adjustment, such as it is. With the old cylinder, the spindle would stop so fast you thought it might...
I opened it up and took a look. The largish flywheel handle comes off by removing the 3 cap screws and tapping it in carefully - there is a collet holding it on the shaft. 3 screws and the can...
I went ahead and hot wired my machine, wired 127 to 128. While I was at it, I wired 163 to 129.
Now I can feed X, Y, and Z at the pot set feed rate with or without the spindle running. It seems to...
