Do while working on a bed of nails jig for PCB's I got the following idea. Use the tips of these test probes to make a simple and very compact digitizer probe. Less than Ø40mm and 20mm heigh (excl...
So I've had one of these 3040 machines sitting around for a while. Upgraded with a G540, so it runs pretty well after that.
But I'm having trouble with accuracy, and I've probed out the table and...
The spindle only interfered with the original unbranded Chinese controller, after installing the Gecko G540 it was smooth (and able to run much faster).
Even when using the G540s VDF speed control...
Thanks for your thoughts Ian, good to know I'm not trying to break the universe here!
The motors are powered by 24V yes, just measured the PSU. The current setup ran cuts fine with about 1kg extra...
How did the Gecko work out for you?
I've got a machine with the same motors and seriously considering just getting the G540 and hope for smoother sailing!
Just as an update; it seems that it's the flexible shaft that is the root problem - in some positions/angles the shaft is unable to transfer the rotation to the tool bit properly, and that results in...
Hi everyone!
I've got a Chinese bought TS3040C-H80 machine with one of those flexible shafts to a router hanging above the machine, and just a spindle and chuck on the Z axis.
And like another...

(I'm just thinking out loud here: )
I've read through this rather interesting thread looking for ways to ease PCB making. And I've also read about the toner transfer method, and the more...
