I am looking to clear out my CNC building supplies - i am not building anymore as retiring.

Re: Bridgeport Manual to CNC Conversion...

It should work, lots of ways to do this.

Watch out for backlash in the quill rack/pinion, might not be an issue but good to remember.

These were taken from my motor mount plate cad file but i may have filed them to fit later on so i cant be 100% certain the are...

Re: Hit a snag again :)

    Thanks PM,

the code is a lot more voluminous for adaptive etc so that does make some sense, Mach3 has got "look ahead" as standard but usually only set for something like 20 lines, i've upped...

Re: Hit a snag again :)

Thanks, some interesting variations there but ultimately the process time is identical to mine - about 20 minutes :)

Re: Hit a snag again :)

Interesting stuff, i guess there is also non-cut traverse time to consider with adaptive or HSM, slotting does not really have any, its just plunge/ramp and cut.

A few years ago, I was a manual...

Re: Hit a snag again :)

I think we have arrived :)

The part in question was originally planned as mostly 3d-adaptive etc, it worked well (finally) but took about 45 minutes to run ( i only have a Bridgeport with 4000rpm)...

    Re: Autodesk killing more products

One of things that is worrying me is.....who says it will still be $300/year when all the new ideas and bugs are fixed by beta testing it on us free-users??

I could maybe just about do the UK...

Just a quickie - the tool table.

Really easy to get in a mess i think here so i want to get it good from the off.

The generic mach3 post worked here too, but as my M3 post was altered, i would not want to try it.

I doubt they would add the code as it is specific to my controller - a CS-LABS CSMIO-IP/A unit...

Yes that was the fix, before, it was configured as a drill.

Its a universal tool so i have left both version in the library.

Will try and get the part on the mill tomorrow, finally ;)

Re: Hit a snag again :)

    Its the tool.

I had selected a spotting drill and used it as a chamfer mill - this has been done in other apps but i guess Fusion is smart enough to fault-out if you try and tell it move a drill...
