    Surface finish problems...

    Good morning,

I did my first machine relief using Artcam.

My cnc is homemade so it is not that much rigid and cannot go over 1250mm/min (50ipm)

I first did a 6mm roughing pass then did 2 mm...
  5. Re: Water cooled chinese 0.8kw vfd spindle or makita/kress.

I have no idea what is an air cylinder. I have no issue with z axis / lifting as the stepper motors are very powerful. My concern is more about x axis as it runs on one rail (check the photo in the...
  6. Re: Water cooled chinese 0.8kw vfd spindle or makita/kress.

thank you very much for the replies.

I decided to go for the water cooled one.
But do you think my gantry will support 1.5 kw or 2.2 kw or should I go for 0.8kw ? My concern is the vibration or...
  7. Re: Water cooled chinese 0.8kw vfd spindle or makita/kress.

    Thank you for the reply.

I would love to, as there is a very smaill difference in price. I can also have 1.5kw with er16 collet. The problem is, I do not know if the gantry will support it. Maybe...

Re: Choosing the stepper motor torque...

oh now here we go! :)

I decided that I need to design a Nema 32 adapter to Nema 23 for X and Y axis so that this thing of being insufficient goes away...

So another newbie question is: Can I...

Re: Choosing the stepper motor torque...

    Thanks a lot again,

I am just a little bit worried because perhaps your 6090 machine has a lighter gantry, smaller leadscrew (mine is 25mm), 100 x 150 cm and I am pretty sure mine is less...
