  1. Re: Will you choose Thunder Laser if you can get a machine very soon and local suppor

Local and english speaking support is always a big plus, especially when troubleshooting.
I'm in AU but this still allpies for all parts of the world.
But if you offer a "local" support and...

Re: NEED HELP! Laser not engraving properly

A chinese laser tube can fail or work at reduced power before it reaches you already.
If you need higher power settings than before it is a good indication that your tube is going off.
  3. Re: Need Some Advice On Adding A Laser To A CNC Plasma Cutter

The main issues of monting the tube directly is weight.
If you consider the water cooling you can get over the 2kg mark quite easy - this would require changes or at least tweaking of settings...
  4. Re: New 6x8ft Jinan Senfang 100W machine for engraving glass

The results do not look too bad at all!
I only use an old fridge compressor for the air assist, they are quite silent and if it ever fails due to overheating a replacement is only 10 bucks at the...

    Re: Samples, made by Thunderlaser.

Or my cheap china K40 clone with a 50$ Arduino pack as the controller ;)
Sorry but sometimes I simply fail to see the point why I should invest in a machine that has at least 4 digits for the price...

  8. Re: Chinese laser 50W, 50x30cm - bad/good stuff, mods, problems etc.

Ok, let's start again from scratch if you don't mind:
If you move the axis in the middle position and start the machine - do the move? If they do please shut down before jamming into the final...

    Re: laser not work

You need a matching pair for the power supply and tube.
If your power supply is designed for only 50W tubes then there is a good chance that here is your problem.
Since you stated you upgraded both...

Re: I bought a mini jackhammer

I don't know if you can adjust the motor current on the controller in any easy way but if so I would try to increase it for the y-axis.
If you can move it free by hand with little resistance then it...
  11. Re: Ebay 50w laser dispays no device connected

Sadly stalling and useless explanations are the norm for many chinese sellers.
Language barriers are one thing but most have the attitude of taking you money and then to ignore all problems.
    Had it...
  12. Re: Ebay 50w laser dispays no device connected

Keep in mind that Ebay recently change the return shipping policies.
If Ebay agrees that your unit is faulty then they either offer a shipping discount for you or make the seller organise the...

Re: I bought a mini jackhammer

    Did it move correctly before?
The cables on the limit switches are fixed with heat shrink, check if they are really soldered on and working (multimeter).
Mine gave up after a few days and I had to...
  14. Re: problem "lag" on k40 speed slows down on some lines engraving halftones image

Just because it works sometimes does not make the controller any better.
There are noption to tweak, nothinh to check and that is the problem - you don't even get error messages that would help you....
  15. Re: problem "lag" on k40 speed slows down on some lines engraving halftones image

The controllers ued in the K40's are just crap.
Without the possibility to use base64 encoding image engravings will need massive amounts of Gcode and especially at higher speeds the controller...

Re: CNC router vs Laser Cutter/Engraver

Well that is basically the same I do on wood but the problem I see is the focal lenght.
I am quite sure that for this to work on arcylic you will need a quite short focal lenght.
    Don't have any...

Re: CNC router vs Laser Cutter/Engraver

    Milling?
I don't think so, cutting and engraving yes.
For "milling" you would need to do an engraving at the right speed and power to remove the material.
Due to the nature of the optics and...
  20. Re: Calibrating movement on custom laser cutter with Lihuiyu Studio and Corellaser

  25. Re: cheap chines laser for newbie that is not a nightmare...

You won't get a K40 without dongle, crappy controller and nightmare software.
Replace the controller after a function and alignment test and that's about it.
And as said endless times in all forums...
  26. Re: New 6x8ft Jinan Senfang 100W machine for engraving glass

  29. Re: What do you think about the Glowforge approach?

  30. Re: What do you think about the Glowforge approach?
