What is everyone's experience upgrading the memory on an Anilam 1100M control? I've heard you can add a Compact Flash card reader (2GB or smaller). Anyone ever fool around with that?

The post only outputs data from whatever toolpath you created.

Mastercam will do helical motion to create a thread. The shape is determined by the insert. I dont see any reason Mastercam wouldn't do what you want.

The newer Home Learning Edition (HLE) can now save files, but it wont post. You can do solid modeling and even 5x toolpaths. It's very nice.

Yes you can make toolpaths with ProE ProMan, but if you think Mastercam is hard, Just try using ProMan to do a toolpath.

Sounds like the Retract is a function of some other movement. It should probably be done in the machining function.

But... if you open the .txt file, you'll see the other Canned Text functions....

Dont shift zero for 4/5 axis. The part should be placed in the correct position, with World Zero being the Machine/Rotary zero point.

I dont think the HLE expires. Is you PC set for automatic Windows updates? Or did you recently update or install something?

There are some tool change options on the Toolpath Parameter page that will cvhange the output of the standard MPFan post.

Always help to know what version you have....

If your in Inch mode, just grab a 1/4 inche end mill and for the diameter key in "5mm" and Mastercam will convert it to inches for you.
