Well have to give it to you for a unique machine. What kind of speeds are you running? Going schedule 80 should definitely stiffen it up. Curious why you choose PVC?

Try and brush the board with a tooth brush. Looks like it will clean up a bit. Hard to tell from the picture if its jagged cuts or debris.
Interesting, how well does it work?
Really like your panel, may have to cut one just to hang it on the wall. Thanks MR.L
Looks real nice, great job
Yes to both questions
A lot of people may not agree with this but I had a 4 axis board that I blew one of the driver chips on (my fault). My large router has 2 X axis steppers so I landed both motors on the same driver...
I've made a couple of these. They work pretty well for what they are.

Nice table, love the x axis tube and bearing setup. Looks like your having a blast cutting too.:D
For the price I'd use this

I've used CRS rods with oil lite bearings on a small router that worked well. Alum may not be stiff enough to avoid deflection. What were you planning on for bearings?

Have used these on aluminum with good success also the 0 helix which I can't find

Turned out real nice. Now if I only had a big enough router to do it up full size :D
I've bought a lot of bits from him and liked them all EXCEPT his engraving bits. They tend to break their tips in everything I cut with them. Corian, acrylic, MDF, and aluminum. Thought I was doing...
Very nice
Looks good, what kind of wood is it? Did you cut it from 1 piece ?
Nice build, like the bearing trolley design you used. Been puzzling over this one for awhile, need to change out my x axis rails and bearings for something easier, stiffer and adjustable. This maybe...
"Sounds like resonance" have to agree with that one. Also check the alignment of the x screw through the trolly and at either end of the router where the bearings are. What software are you using for...
Looks real nice  Any noticeable play in the trollies?
emergency stop button not connected, activated, setup right. This was my issue on the first machine I wired.
Did you check the line of gcode where this happened to make sure it compiled right? Can you run a simulation with your cam program and see if the sim does it also?

Thanks for the direction doorknob. That took care of the problem, now where to find reasonably priced 6 wire drivers so I can use these to there full potential ?

This is a hobby for me not a career, they work well for what I use them for and really have no complaints. Have migrated the same motors and 6560 board between 2 routers now with no problems. Driving...
Looked at the linisteppers last night but am using 4 wire hybrids so can't use them and not up to soldering parts I cant see. My question arose out of trying to get some probotix 6 wire steppers...
Smoked my made in china 4 axis board today  and was looking at buying a replacement. This brought me to the question of how much difference is there in a cheap all in one driver board and using...
Toplakd,
Have tried the scaling of the models, some end up rather large though. The 5mm underlayment seems to be the only material readily available around here so its what I use. How about...
First of all I would like to thank everyone here who has contributed vector help, DXF files and pictures of the different projects.
I have tried a few of the files in this thread with some success...
