Thanks
Yes i know these differences but i cant see what it could hurt to run bt40is in the spindle, it seats nicely and with right knobs the drawbar wont know any difference.
But as you say...
Interesting. What does differ?
I have used bt40 in my cat40 but i bought the different lenght pullstuds for them so the tension is same. (Not tool change)
As far as i know only the taper lenght...
Cloning it to a modern Hdd really boosted the boot time of the system too.
You might wanna block the axes during transport too..i was abit sloppy with that but the machine did not move far.
I would probably remove the Harddrive during the moving.
Dont wanna shake that fragile thing more then necessary.
And even try make a clone of it.
Other then that i dont have knowledge of that...
Couple of threads down??

For now i adjusted pitch error til the Y axis makes the perfect circle and same size square as X
It now interpolates a d250mm within 0.005mm.
Makes square 250x250
A smaller hole is in same center...
I believe you..just running out of ideas.
I did now measure with 0.0001" dial and the out of round is
0.0127 per side so a diameter in X is 284.00m and in Y
283.9873mm
The smaller it get the...
Thanks. Cant see anything wrong
Im thinking off turning the "thermal comp selection" feom ambient to inactive or absolute. Should be safe ?
And then do a test.
Control re boot needed?
Thanks for getting back
The spindle nr is 061264424000
It is a 8k unit with no chiller. Oil lubricated.
Software release 4.13
MV001214
Another thought
Does anyone know where to access the thermal compensation for Y? The machine is in a enviroment that is abit colder then 20c wondering if that could mess things up?
But i reckon it...
Work getting in the way of perfecting this old girl.
I did have a feel on the backlash i would say its in the 0.005mm so imo. Still pretty tight.
I have confirmed that a dia. 44mm hole is...
Thanks alot for taking your time
I havent checked the screws more then by feeling them byhand
And having a 0.002 dial gauge. They feel really nice.
The finishes it leaves during roughing and...
Thanks
I would say the tram is good.(it was atleast lets see)
When i got the machine it was really bad in X direction
So i spent alot time dialing it in. I did this at fairly big diameter....
Ok i might have measured abit sloppy.
I would say a diameter of 300mm is 0.02mm smaller in Y direction.
Meaby it was abit better after the Kv got dialed.
I have found something i think
In the...
I had a change to play abit more.
I have a part where i circular milled diameter 296mm and diametee turns out 0.04mm smaller in Y direction (0.02mm per side)
I checked the balance and gain,my...
Thanks gwood for excellent answer.
The work seems to be pretty well documented.
Thanks for that.
But it seems to be a bigger task then compared to
A retrofit we made on my heidenhain machine.
...
Another day another acramatic question :D
I wonder if its possible to retrofit a 4th axis to a a2100 from 2000.
Its a machine with profibus and siemens electronics.
Machine specs. States 4th...
Another question. To be honest, i havent really looked much in to the acramatic box but it all begins to clear..i quess tthe wscpu is pretty straight forward to pop out with the power supply.
But...
Cheers man.
I will search for them.
Great info.. really big thanks.
Thanks. That it something i have read. I am in sweden so sending the boards across the sea would suck.
I hope siemens here in europe has some sort of support.
Im thinking of taking the boards to a...
Pm sent. But i doubt it got sent for some reason.
Let me know.
Born in 86 i still got alot chips to do :D
Even though i wish cycle time of life was slower.
Nah. But i'm the type of guy who likes to collect spares before the parts actually fail haha. That way stuff never seems to fail haha.
Seems though this stuff is relative easy to still find?
Thanks . Tram in Z done with 300mm testbar.
As you guys seem to have knowledge of these.
My machine is with servo dv5 card and a prof dp card
Are these prof dp cards prone to fail?
How about...
Hello. I have not checked them
But i'm very sure its angle error.
I have had similar case where a ballbar test was made and the results were pretty much same as i got with my primitive style tests...
Hello. Yea i'm aware it doubles it. So i figured the error is indeed 0 013 for 500.
Thank you for your reply
The error i have is 0.013 for 500mm so i reckon i
Will just let it roll for now.
I can see a ever so slight variation on a big circle.
Not because of backlash but of...
Hello !
I have a slight squareness error (too little to be worth doing mechanical adjustments...)
I wonder if accramatic a2100 has compensation table for this error (like heidenhain does)...
Whats upp yall!
I have decides to buy and take care and try make some work with a cincy arrow2 from 2001
It has not got much of service during the years so i would really get some things done
