Not having access to Mastercam I can't advise further, but found this on another forum:-

Are you working with stand alone VB, or does Mastercam use VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) as it's macro language?
Either way, a basic understanding of VB syntax is a good starting point.

My copy of SketchUp v6 gives the following options for export to DXF or DWG -
R12, R13, R14, 2000 and 2004
Good though SketchUp is, it doesn't do true arcs and circles but approximations of multiple straight lines (you can set the number you want according to your accuracy).

I've made some progress and have a VB program that currently reads the file(s) and writes a corresponding DXF file(s) for lines and circles....
Searching for ESSI I found it's associated with ISO 6582 "Shipbuilding -- Numerical control of machines -- ESSI format".
Maybe I should try to get hold of ISO 6582 ?
