at 400ipm they just seem to be almost resonating with the whole 80/20 structure and making a lot of noise... same at 300 but less noisy. the whole thing is just loud.

just messed with my machine and changed to 400 in/min at an accel of 75, worked great but the rack is really loud! its hard to do this while getting my son ready for school too;-)

I can't say enough good things about Solid Edge 2D personal edition from Siemens -- its free and makes 2d drawing very fast. It is also parametric... can't beat that!
