This will use the 'D' value for the last called tool.

Do HAAS customise machines?
we require the X&Y of a VF3/VM3 but the Z is restricted by an overhead gantry crane - so was wondering if they would build a VF"2.5" for us....
i.e. a VF3, but with a...
I've got a 12" Sandvik facemill for sale - see ebay ads on here
Have got a job to do where we gotta document sizes as we go.

When I'm creating a new engraving program, i always program a M97 P1000 and create a 'N1000' sub at the end and call it just before the g47, before any Z depths.
The sub will be positions of...
When speaking with various people, no-one seems to like the IPS on the new control.
I dont like not having QC in edit, I dont like the IPS for machining day to day - but just to quickly 'bang a...

Hi!
All 5 of our VF8's + 1 VF6 have the probe mounted at X+, like I said the EC1600 has it at X-.
I'm guessing its because from the 'front' they are on the same side. (although we try not to refer...
anyone else with ec1600 on here?
Having looked at a few pics of EC1600's I think I'm right in saying that all the toolsetting probes are on 'the far side' of the table. X+ end.
Our's is on the X- end.
I've caught the stylus a...

Older umbrella ATC's had reversible fingers, so you could turn them over yourself, but the later ones need completely different fingers.
The sidemounts only need the arm changed.
most likely the compensation for backlash in parameters.
we use quite a bit of Taegutec tooling.
their u-drills are really good.
we also got a ChaseFeed cutter - dia 32. use for bollocking out material at Ultra high feed. highly recommended
We have 5 VF8s and a VF6.
3 have 40 position sidemounts - and we all hate them!!!!
there are the plus points as already mentioned, but the way we work it'd be so much easier to retain tool&pocket...
We're in the Uk and always use Cat tooling (CT/Din69871).
the difference is the position of the groove for the toolchanger, as already identified.
also, it is only the arm on a vertical toolchanger...
Anyone got one of these?
How do you rate it?
We have 6 VF8s, 4 MM's and 1 SMM.
So we know haas pretty well, just wondered if anyone had any experience of the big horizontal?
I have asked Haas uk for the name of the font that is default in Haas mills, but unfortunately they cannot assist, saying that Haas themselves do not know what it is, and basically, it is 'made-up'....
we do 99% stainless, and do masses of engraving.
the best cutters we have found are "Magafor".

During tool change sequence, the machines obviously give an air-blast to ensure a clean taper, but is there an M-code to have it on as a coolant?
i.e. using a TSC tool and holder?
Im using this...
as previous...
a manual machine wouldnt have the power to run a u-drill fast enough to make it cut correctly.
also, the through coolant would need to be fed at about 8bar!

Have a UCP1150, and a brand new HPM1150U.
They are very reliable, and superbly accurate.
But, each to their own and all that, some shops do have bad experiences with some machines, and others...
