  1. Flat end turns melting hot on machining rusted steel

    I have rusted steel of some sort that I am trying to machine a hole on using flat end HSS in a circular arc. It's only a few mm deep.

    One flat end turned melting red and was already burned out...

    Re: DYNACOM.EXE WANTED!!!!!

    Is the dynacom software available somewhere?

    I am mostly interested in how to do a bulk dump on EM-3116, does the software offer the possibility?

    Re: Integrating Dyna EM-3116 with PC

    The RS-232 communication refuses to work. No messages from the machine appear on the computer.

    However, when data transmission is initiated on the controller some voltages very slightly but surely...

    Re: 800 T: Failed Transmission Error

    I saw the PM, best of luck in finding a post processor!

    The problem was solved by crossing 2 and 3, and connecting 5 to 5. On PC side 4-6-8 were bridged. Those are the pins after connecting...

    Re: Integrating Dyna EM-3116 with PC

    I was able to find a programming manual, it's for the 4M.

    Pinout says with software handshake (9 pins in/out):
    2->3
    3->2
    5->5

    Seems to be the standard protocol.

    The unit has a 9-pin male...

    Re: Collet Not Locking to its Place

    Issue was resolved!

    - Cleaned up and oiled the draw bar.
    - Changed the cables transmitting compressed air. On inspecting the drawbar, the observation was made they had become fragile like butter...

    Re: Collet Not Locking to its Place

    Thank you for the reply Mactech. It was only seen now (indeed the main page may not always contain the latest post).

    The collets look the same as in R8 standard (approximately 24mm in diameter...

    Collet Not Locking to its Place

    Hello,

    I have a problem with an old Dynamyte EM-3116 mill. The collet is not locking properly to the quill when tightened with compressed air. The collet seems to lock at least almost properly...
  10. Re: 800T: Constant Surface Speed not Working (Set Relative to Machine Zero)

    Fault found, the tool offset must be set or this happens. Not only must it be set, it must be set relative to the machine zero or incorrect results occur.
  11. 800T: Constant Surface Speed not Working (Set Relative to Machine Zero)

    A problem on a Fagor 800T controller. When in constant surface speed mode, the machine operates as if the zero was the machine zero rather than the part zero. The machine zero is right at the bottom...

    Re: 800 T: Failed Transmission Error

    I was able to find the RS232 communication guide for 800T, unfortunately no pinout for 25 DB, but there is one for 9 DB. Perhaps the same protocol can be used for 9 and 25. Looks like compared to the...

    Re: 800 T: Failed Transmission Error

    The USB to RS232 pinout I believe is the one from this website https://www.lammertbies.nl/comm/cable/rs-232. The picture is attached. Note that since the connector is 9 DB to 25 DB adapter, the red...

    800 T: Failed Transmission Error

    I am trying to transfer files from and to a Fagor 800T based turning machine through the RS-232 connection. The controller has a RS-232 DB25 connector, which a newly purchased USB to RS-232 DB-9/25...
