I agree with everyone that says absorb it. If you dont you might catch a nasty reflection & get burned badly. Maybe some kind of ceramic would work.

You might also be able to find perforated stainless sheets & just cut the rectangle you need. This would save a lot money if it would work.

If you can find aluminum honecomb, go with that. It might be more expensive but will last a lot longer.

Drilling a hole that small in aluminum you better keep coolant on it. Otherwise the flutes will just clog & stop the point in the hole while your spindle keeps turning.
