My torch height control circuit board has gone bad. I'm searching for another.
Thank you!
You should enter the kerf width as the diameter. In other words, the plasma flame itself has a diameter, and you can figure out it's size by measuring the width of a straight cut.
I've been running some big parts lately and it would be handy to know how much time is left. I'm using the candcnc screens for mach3. The stock screens seem to include a clock, so it must be...
Your pictures don't really make sense. Where is the rest of the machine?
A moving table will require more floor space than a gantry. It's easy to realign the sheet to make cuts that are larger than your machine. I would not bother with a moving table.
Keith,
Thanks for posting your plate marking system. Since you have been using it, have you noticed any difference in consumable life?
I thought the k2 used a leadscrew? Putting a ballscrew on a plasma torch seems like a waste, its not like there is a lot of force acting on the torch?
I understand that rusty bearings are a problem, my point was more about the screw, if a sealed ball bearing is failing, how could a ball nut fare any better?
Why would you bother with ceramic bearings when the rest of the screw is steel?
how much more powerful is the pneumatic engraver compared to a plain ol' electric engraver?
maybe a dremel with a small carbide burr, you will have a go pretty slow but it would work.
Most steel tubing is "cold formed" meaning that it's rolled into a tube from flat sheet and welded in a "cold" condition. The thinner varieties (<1/4") will usually be rolled from "cold rolled" sheet...
Why did you choose to make the work table seperate from the rails that the gantry slides on?
Awesome! What is the intended use?
I am currently building a machine very similar to yours, and would like to know: Why are you considering rack and pinion? Aren't ball screws are the best?
I used to work with a cnc plasma...
I need to get end mounting bearings for a ballscrew. I already have the screw and nut, I'm after a fixed end mounting block with angular contact bearings.
Does anyone have a good source for...
