I finally found out the current recommended versions:
ESS: v285
Mach4: .4809
That brings me back to the same point. The Mach4 FTP server does not have the 4809 either
So now I am hunting for...
Thanks!!
I have a method for transfer but lets wait a little bit. I sent in a support request to Warp(td to see which version they currently suggest for Mach4..
I have recently switched from Mach3...
Thank you Craig for a detailed reply with explanations.
I missed the FTP server, I kept going directly to the Mach4 section. I am surprised tech support did not point it out when I asked....
I am really surprised by Mach4 support.
I am having an interaction /communication problem between Mach4 and the ESS. It randomly locks up and I have to restart Mach4.
Mach4 support recommend...
I have been trying to find a schematic and the proper technical specifications of a typical CO2 supply.
It appears that they all have the same input connector: H, L, WP, G, IN, 5V.
Mine is called:...
I like to optically measure the pulse timing and duration on an oscilloscope.
It is 10.6microns 100W CO2 laser.
What can I use for a detector?
I have a regular laser power meter but that measures...
Sorry Jim,
I am looking for something like the front end of an electric drill with an easily adjustable torque setting. This is not for production work, just hobby stuff.
What I envision is a...
Thank you.
That is the function that I am looking for but hoping ti will fit the tail stock chuck and/or used also in a vertical milling machine
I am looking for a torque limiter to place in the tailstock and hold a chuck that in turn holds a regular tap.
I sometimes use an electrical handheld drill for tapping and the adjustable torque is...
One CO2 glass tube laser tube manufacturer specified that the laser tubes were measured at a distance of 700mm.
Why not at any practical distance, for example, 100mm or 1000mm? The divergence ought...
I am looking for information on how to add a laser aiming pointer to my 100W CO2 laser.
I bought a ZnSe window to use as the mirror for the aiming pointer.
Do I just place the mirror at 45 degrees...
Thanks for replying.
I have since learned that a vertical tube is not a good idea since any air bubbles would be right at the end mirror.

I need to quickly buy a 100-130W CO2 laser in the USA. I cannot wait for shipping from China.
Ballpark cost appears to be around 4,000 for China models and similar power/models by regular US...
To save floor space I am thinking about building a 100W CO2 laser with the tube mounted vertically.
I have the ceiling clearance and I realize I might have to use a step ladder for optics...
To make sure my different work spaces (fixture offsets) are correct, I like to be able to define them in the G-code itself, not by editing the offset table in Mach4.
How can I do that?
Bertho
I can easily show/hide individual coordinate indicators (The X_Y_Z arrows.
I imported an assembly that has several hundred parts and I am trying to turn all the indicators off. So far both manuals...
Thanks Dean488,
Remember the input file is a parametric 3D cad file, not an STL. The output needs to be a real CAD file too, not an STL slice.
Eventually I found out that if I create a drawing in...
THANKS!!
That is what I was looking for. It worked great.
Thanks again,
Bertho
I have a 3D printer and it slices a 3D object into slices to generate G-code for printing those slices.
I have not seen a way to convert a 3D parametric file to 2D drawing in DXF or DWG format.
...
Thanks Jnhx,
Vectric Pro will not import a 3D model.
As it is now I recreate it from scratch in AutoCAD which will import directly to Vectric but it is time-consuming and error prone.
Laser cutting, not 3D printing.
Simple example: An open box (shoebox) and I want to laser cut holes in the bottom but I only have a 3-D model.

I realize this is the machine forum but the controller one basically only contains the SPAM from China.
I have a custom laser cutter (not engraver) controlled by Mach 3 and I convert 2D drawings...
I am probably missing something obvious. Usually to laser cut an item I create a 2D drawing in AutoCAD and then import it into Vectric Pro which will generate a tool-path for the laser.
This time I...
Hurray!! Success!!
You are a hero! I have been fighting this problem for a long time.
Now SE is working again and I am very happy.
Bertho
I tried that too but unfortunately I still get the error.
Any more suggestions?
Thanks,
Bertho
I am using Solid Edge but have not paid maintenance for a couple of years and it is too expensive so I am looking at switching to Geomagic Design. It will be lower cost than paying for the years of...
Thanks Burrman for a fast reply.
I tried the sequence of downloads as suggested. In both cases it gave me the option to "repair" which I did.
Unfortunately I still get the same Side by Side error...
SE ST-2 on Windows 7 64bit.
It used to work but something happened..
I tried repair, then uninstall-reboot-install. No help.
Using sxstrace.exe in DOS i get:
ERROR: Cannot resolve reference...
Thanks for the fast replies.
I will try the suggested paper transfer tape.
