Do a search for "Tormach Streamliner" to see one solution to this problem.
I did contemplate raising the mill with spacer blocks to give more clearance under mill, Streamliner panels worked so well...

Search for Tormach Streamliner to give you some ideas. Works well for me.

Re: "Looking for easier way to clear chips out from machine base"

Have been using Path-Pilot for a couple of months, yes it was a problem having to make sure you entered G21 into MDI every time you started.
Have recently updated to V1.9, and yes it has...
I posted some time ago about fitting “Streamliner” panels to enclose the base of my 1100. The original intent was to streamline the clean up of the machine. Another huge benefit soon became apparent,...

Frankie Flood, Tormach owner, has posted a lot of great photos on his blog. Done in five parts.
Great blog.

Thanks for your concern, the compressor is what is described as “oil-less” Plastic/Teflon type piston and a ball race for the big end bearing. I have been using it tilted for about 18 months with no...
Like many I have made a number of mini mods to my Tormach, nothing outstanding and certainly not worthy of a separate individual post. Others may like to post any mini mods they have carried out.

Panels look great, wouldn't worry about difficulty in removing panels you will find you don't have to remove them much. Cloth/paper towels when panels meet splash trays keeps base and chip...
A couple of short comings with the Tormach would have to be the lack of a coolant sight gauge and a fairly small coolant tank.
I have an 1100 Series 3, the inlet to the centrifugal pump is on the...

You have a valid point about pillows getting jammed in ball screw. Besides that I have just measured spare pillow I have and its almost 50mm (2”) thick, it would not fit anyhow. The one in my...

I have a mid 2012 model that came with oil pump located below splash tray on L/H side of stand. Didn't cross my mind about models with oil pump next to machine base. That does complicate panel...
Oil trays.
I was going to post this separately but makes more sense to add it to this post.
Your interest in this maybe determined as to how much you hate way oil in your coolant tank; I detest...

One piece would be O.K. but yes it would be difficult to fit and remove. Not sure there would be much to gain having one-piece panels. Two-piece panels are easy to remove and install and do...
Streamliner Construction
A member who liked the look of the “Streamliner” panels asked if I was able to supply a set. Unfortunately I am not in a position to do so. I have attached another set...
Tormach Streamliner.
First post, ever.
As a JFF (just for fun) operator of PCNC 1100 I certainly don’t generate the mountains of chips I see the more proficient operators create. Even so I...
