    Re: Tormach Streamliner

Good improvement will carry out the same on mine. I also don't machine much steel but when I do I use a strip of "magnetic" rubber that is used on white boards to form a barrier to coolant...
  2. Re: Deluxe Stand - Coolant draining, chips under the machine, etc

Do a search for "Tormach Streamliner" to see one solution to this problem.
I did contemplate raising the mill with spacer blocks to give more clearance under mill, Streamliner panels worked so well...

    Re: G21 metric Issue

    Keen

Have been using Path-Pilot for a couple of months, yes it was a problem having to make sure you entered G21 into MDI every time you started.

Have recently updated to V1.9, and yes it has...

    Re: Coolant Upgrades

I posted some time ago about fitting “Streamliner” panels to enclose the base of my 1100. The original intent was to streamline the clean up of the machine. Another huge benefit soon became apparent,...

    Re: Mini Mods.

Thanks for your concern, the compressor is what is described as “oil-less” Plastic/Teflon type piston and a ball race for the big end bearing. I have been using it tilted for about 18 months with no...

    Mini Mods.

Like many I have made a number of mini mods to my Tormach, nothing outstanding and certainly not worthy of a separate individual post. Others may like to post any mini mods they have carried out.

    Oil Pump Stick Shift

    Oil Pump Stick Shift

So I may have erred in not getting the Auto oil pump option. I have Series 3 1100 with the pump mounted on stand at lower left at the, oh my aching back level, it’s a real...

Panels look great, wouldn't worry about difficulty in removing panels you will find you don't have to remove them much. Cloth/paper towels when panels meet splash trays keeps base and chip...

    Gargantuan coolant level indicator

A couple of short comings with the Tormach would have to be the lack of a coolant sight gauge and a fairly small coolant tank.

I have an 1100 Series 3, the inlet to the centrifugal pump is on the...

You have a valid point about pillows getting jammed in ball screw. Besides that I have just measured spare pillow I have and its almost 50mm (2”) thick, it would not fit anyhow. The one in my...

    Series 3

    Bevin
I have a mid 2012 model that came with oil pump located below splash tray on L/H side of stand. Didn't cross my mind about models with oil pump next to machine base. That does complicate panel...

    Oil trays.

I was going to post this separately but makes more sense to add it to this post.

One piece would be O.K. but yes it would be difficult to fit and remove. Not sure there would be much to gain having one-piece panels. Two-piece panels are easy to remove and install and do...

    Tormach Streamliner

    Tormach Streamliner.

    First post, ever.

As a JFF (just for fun) operator of PCNC 1100 I certainly don’t generate the mountains of chips I see the more proficient operators create. Even so I...
