Hi! I tried to send you a PM but it didn't work. I would be interested in a 3D printer head. Could you send me a PM or email please? Thanks!

This is a rolled ballscrew (16mm diameter 5mm pitch). I looked at the screw and felt for burrs or irregularities but I couldn't see or feel anything out of the ordinary. It is just strange that...
The dualvee wheels are supposed to be pretty good with dirty environments but I'm not sure how they will do with sandblasting grit. You can use cheap angle iron for rails.
I took a break from the cnc project for about a year and a half so that I could work on some other projects. Originally I was going to clear out some room in my garage to put the router but I never...
I finally took the ballscrew out of the machine. It actually is smooth going one direction but the other direction is a lot rougher. It still has the one area where it is very rough. Should I try...
I have a ballscrew that seems to be nice and smooth going one direction and mostly smooth going in the other direction except in one area of the ballscrew where it almost siezes and becomes difficult...
Thanks for the info!
I just put the ballscrew on ebay if anybody is interested:
Ground Ballscrew for Cincinnati lathe, z-axis, cnc - eBay (item 190501481456 end time Feb-19-11 16:49:32 PST)
Looks like most of the mechanical components are there for a great machine! Couldn't quite tell what shape the z-axis is in. Seems to be missing parts. Anyway, if the mdrive steppers give you...
Hi! I bought acme screws, delrin nut, and 2 bearing blocks from here:
http://www.precisiontechmachining.com/id1.html
but I just realized I only have radial bearings and nothing to support the...
Nice upgrade (servos and high speed spindles)! I've been waiting for the ebay guy to sell some more belt speed reducers but they haven't been available for a while. Do you think it would be hard to...
Hi! Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, it just says it's a ballscrew but doesn't say what machine it goes to. Are there parts lists for the lathes?
Hi! I'm trying to find out what machine this ground ballscrew goes to:
Cincinnati Lathe Z-axis P/N 3632063-R01
Is there a catalog or something that I can look this up? Thanks!
I've been getting the 20% off coupons from my Sunday paper. It's buried in the little pamphlet of coupons.
JoeyB,
Yup...I'm aware of the six months to a year part because it's been more than a year and counting for my machine. To George's credit, he's updated the machine and looks like it's greatly...
Are you still testing the servo drives? When do you think they will be available for purchase and how much?
Did you manage to ship my machine yet? Thanks!
Looks nice! How much does your spindle/router weigh and what size motor are you using to drive the z-axis?
I'm waiting for an axis just like that one along with it's "bigger" brothers (24" and...
Is there one driver that can run steppers and servos? Any prices?
Hate to ask again, but did you ship the machine yet?
You could try this stuff:
Super Lube Grease and Dri Spray
I use this stuff I found in a local hardware store:
Tri-Flow® Superior Lubricant Aerosol
George,
Just wondering if you have received any of my e-mails from this past week? Have you had a chance to ship the machine?
Justin
Just wondering if anybody has tried servo motors on their xzero machine?
George,
Do you have any status on the machine you are working on for me? Some pictures would help with the wait. Thanks!
Justin
You might also check your motor coupler to see if in one direction it is good but in the other rotation direction, it is loose.
I'm just guessing, but probably means that instead of mounting the z-axis such that the little table moves up and down, the little table is mounted to the y-axis, and the whole z-axis (stepper motor,...

Here's the writeup on ballscrews versus leadscrews/acme that I always refer to.
I thought the K2 z-axis comes with a Kerk lead screw and delrin nut instead of a ballscrew?
I thought the new supported bearings made the inner rails not necessary? Would you be able to comment on what the inner rails do for the machine? Thanks!
Just wondering what stepper motor you are using? Is it a 270oz-in or is it bigger?
I think my machine (30X72) is close to shipping. I'm up the road from you in the Seattle/Everett area.
I was just wondering if anybody would be interested in a precision ball screw for a Cincinnati Lathe Z-axis P/N 3632063-R01? I picked it up from a surplus store but I can't find a good application...
Not sure if you ever got your stepper motors? It looks like you want something fairly cheap so definitely look into scrapping old laser printers and you will usually find some nice stepper motors. ...
