    Re: Problem arose with UC300eth

Red LED's are outputs, and are probably not the problem. It looks like your Y and C axis limit switches are tripped, which is why you can't reset the machine. Try the limit override button and jog...

    Re: Spoil/Waste Board Questions

You don't need to coat the entire thing. just lay a bead around the perimeter, and in maybe a 4-6" grid.

Contact cement would work, but woodworking glue would be w better choice. I have a spray...

    Re: Controllers for 3D cutting

When 3D cutting, the machine will almost always cut slower than the commanded feerate. The laws of physics won't allow it. The machine has to slow down to change direction, which results in lower...

Re: Conversion kits for Wood lathe to CNC??

Gary Campbell from GCNC has done some wood lathe conversions.

    1) Use the "Override Limits" button to disable the switches and allow you to jog off of them.

    2) I'm not sure what you are asking. What icon are you clicking on?
Clicking an icon should not stop...

Re: Standard or widely used cam software

In some cases, yes. But there are some that are used in a variety of industries.

As Craig mentioned, MasterCAM is one of the biggest names in the CAM market.
There are also even higher end...
  12. Re: machining hard wood, examples of methods and feeds and speeds

As a general rule, if the bit is screaming, it's because you aren't cutting fast enough, or the rpm is too high.
It can be hard to give recommendations, because machine rigidity comes into play.

Re: Standard or widely used cam software

    Different industries use different software.
There are numerous CAM programs that have been around for decades that are widely used.
  14. Re: Mach3 Direction Problem - Can someone help me please

Remember that when you jog, you should be concerned about which way the tool is moving, which is opposite the way that the table is moving. Your Y axis is backwards, if it's backwards on the screen.

    Zero.
If you are losing steps, the machine is unusable.

Re: THK combined LM rail with gear rack

I'm going to assume that it's far more expensive than most DIYers would be willing to spend. But It's probably a very good system.

Re: Mach 3 Feed approx 10% slower than Gcode

    Run it with Mach3 closed.
But look at the actual frequency that's displayed.
Disregard the message that says it's perfect, as it will almost always say that.

Re: Mach 3 Feed approx 10% slower than Gcode

Run drivertest.exe and see if the actual frequency Mach3 is running at matches the kernel speed. Different PC's can run at different frequencies, causing this issue.
  27. Re: Limiting current on a 2.2 kW VFD/spindle combo for 110V/20A breakers

You should be setting the VFD to output 8.5 amps, which is the rating for the spindle you have.

  29. Re: Mach 3 Feedrates Do not Match commanded rate

Yes, the driver test will show the actual frequency you are getting.
Either the frequency is way off, or you have some settings wrong somewhere.

  30. Re: Limiting current on a 2.2 kW VFD/spindle combo for 110V/20A breakers

Based on what you're saying, it sounds like you have a 110V 2.2kw spindle and VFD, with the spindle rated at 20 amps? If so, then yes, limiting the current effectively makes it a 1.5Kw spindle....
