Did you manage to overcome this? I have the same issue with my mini mill
Hi,
So, i was just adding a programme to our mini mill when all of a sudden the spindle dropped down, managed to stop it before it crashed into the vice! I then got a message on the screen saying...
didnt have to solder our one, they now supply it with a sticky pad 348482
its back up and running! I have to say the Haas guy was really good and talked me through the settings/params over the phone
how did they damage the motherboard?
Hi,
When i powered up our TL2 on friday i got a low battery voltage message in the bottom left corner before it froze on the white screen with the Haas logo. I have spoken to Haas who have quoted...
That is correct Geof but the same would apply if the turret box had moved on the wedge
Hi all,
When we first got our SL10 7 years ago i crashed the turret into the chuck which misaligned the turret, the turret was out 0.004 over 3" in the z when clocking across where the id tool...
i have just changed the inserts for new and taken a 0.004" cut, it seems to have improved slightly but it is not perfect and i can still feel a very slight step
Hi, the mini mill only has 4 feet, im pretty sure they are all supporting the weight though
Hi Geof,

I am machining a 5 1/8" diameter spigot x 1/8" deep on a 8" diameter mild steel billet using a 50mm 90 deg facemill, the problem is i am getting a small step (approx 0.0005"-0.001") on one side when...
I think i will make a longer chuck key so i can use it in the verticle position
The fact that the door doesnt slide back is such a poor design and im suprised they havent altered it. Not only that...
i hope not
Has anyone modified the door on one of these machines? The problem is the door does not move back far enough and fouls the area that you would normally use to tighten the chuck. This means thta you...
thanks everyone. some good ideas. Great engineering Geof! Think i might make a sub plate.

i have to admit that im not built like Arnold Schwarznegger :o but when i have a 10" chuck on the table there is no way of just lifting it up so i have to slide it forward to get a hand underneath...
i think the problem is caused by sliding chucks etc. Its not possible to reach over and place them down. We are moving premises soon and i will have a crane that i will be able to use so that should...
What does everyone to do keep their tables from getting scratched? We have a 5 year old minimill and as i have to keep changing from chuck to vice to surface table etc the table is getting very...

I only have the operators manual and its not in there. I phoned up haas and they didn't even know and had none in stock. All I know is that its a red grease
Does anyone know what type of grease should be used on the spindle bearings?
Im getting a rattling noise yet again now that it is colder even though i run the warm up program before using. I want to...
i think i was worrying about nothing then
by using the correct grease nipple ha ha. The manual shows the left hand side nipple being the trucks but this is incorrect so i have been over greasing the ball screw.
I think its ok anyway. I...

Hi,
I have a problem with lubricating the x axis trucks on my TL2. I regularly grease all the points but i am not getting anything on the x cross slide and instead the grease seems to just build...
