Hi all,

I have had very positive experience's with US Digital, if you intend going with a simple amp, you also have the option of using Pico Systems PWM servo amps, they are similar price to a 7i29 per axis...
AFAIK the 7i29 can only be used in a torque mode which needs a higher resolution encoder for good stability.
If your motors have tachometer feedback to the original amps you are probably better...
What is the encoder count per user unit, lcnc tends to run best with higher count encoders.
It seems from post's here and my experience this far, that the market for an operator panel is small, and for one off custom for industrial users, which is the market we are presently in.
We have...
dwalsh62,
I met the GSK folks at IMTS, their controls look good, how many retrofits have you done with GSK hardware.
We have been retrofitting machines for a few years and have been building custom operator panels for some of our recent projects.
The question on my mind is, could there be a market for a product...
I think you have posted in the wrong forum, try the mechanical engineering, calculations, design or the linear and rotary motion forums.
Yes the amps on the Maho use industry standard -+10v analog signal, I have a manual in pdf somewhere if you want.
Thanks Mike, this info can help me avoid a possibly expensive learning curve.
I will re-use the amps, I would like to give the PCB's a good clean, any advice on products and methods ?
Dave
Hi all,
anyone out there have experience with, or opinions on PMI axa-180-10-20 amps.
I am looking at retrofitting a mill with these amps, they are 1980's vintage and I wonder if I should just...
=aike=
I have not yet updated this machine to hm2, so you will need to edit pin names if you are using hm2.
I will PM the files on Monday when I am back in the shop.
Dave
You could use some hal or CL logic, using the halui.program.is-paused bit, direct the signal from your button to the halui.program.resume bit when in program.
It seems you have one digital i/o for each station position, that will make it easier for a classic ladder new-b to handle.
If you read the classic ladder documentation, you will be able to get...
Dan,
Thanks for the info on the servo drives, it works.
Can you help me once more, I have an AC spindle drive on my mill, could you tell me the pinout on this drive A06B-6044-H007, thanks.
Dave
I have a Wasino wmc18 mill, 1982 with 6M control, I am retrofitting.
It has an AC model 3 spindle motor, the drive seems to function (no red leds)
# on main board is A20B-0009-0532.
Can anyone...
you need to home all of the axis X,Y & Z.
Regnar,
Can you give me a link to documentation on how to make emc run at start-up, I have been unable to find anything.
Dave
Thanks Dan, I have tested one of the CN1 connectors, it seems that pins 14/15 are wired together, and 19/20 also.
I will do some tentative testing under power this week.
Dan,
The servo motors on my lathe have tacho generators, it say's 6v/1000 rpm on the cover,
size 10 motor on the X axis and size 20 on the Z. The pulse coders are on the end of the ballscrews.
I...
Dan,
Thanks for the info, I had no idea the amps can be used on such a wide range of controls, it's a real shame that they are not +/-10v input or I could have used them in the retrofit.
I am retrofitting my Mazak M5, so I have amps and boards form the main control.
Is it worth putting them on ebay, oh, it also has a BTR but can't find a makers name and have no docs for it. Does...
The old black haas rotary tables use a different pinout and also uses single ended position feedback.
The renco encoder does have differential output, so you can re-wire your table for use with the...
cool! nice work percy.
I have not priced a fagor recently, but it is the most cost effective of the true industrial quality controls, a machine with a fagor control is easier to sell and will hold...
Percy,
I have been using my Maho for a few weeks, and I like the build quality and engineering that has gone into it.
In my view the control (Phillips 432) is a real wort on what is otherwise a...
Percy,
Point to point is capable of linear interpolation (movement in a straight line).
You would not be able to cut arcs (circular interpolation), usually this kind of control will have the basic...
the mill looks to be in good condition, by the handwheels I would guess that it has a manual mode.
The rotary table will be very handy.
The controller, however is not very good, if it is like the...
Frank,
Can you post links to the hardware you intend to use.
Dave
Frank,
I think the 432 control uses linear scale for position feedback, how are you planning to get position feedback to your amps, if you intend using mach will you need to change the servo amps....
Al,
Thanks for info.
