Did you ever get this up and running?
Dave, looks great! Is that a different gear rack, or a machined spacer between the rack and linear rail?
Any updates Bartuss?
Looks great Dave. I like the rollers. It looks like you could make a few extra and clamp or screw them on to the slats for longer tubing. Thanks for sharing.
Eric, your machine work looks awesome.
I am using this one Up to 100 lb Gantry - Plasma Stepper Systems : Plasma - AIO BladeRunner Dragon Cut 620-4 Stepper System + DTHC II
I have the feather touch upgrade. On the new table I will have...
I have been using CandCnc for about 4 years now. I haven't had any issues to speak of (other than what I have messed up). I am building a new table now and will use their products on it too.
Eric S, I have about 9" from the top of the slats to the bottom of the gantry tube.
Looks good. keep the pics coming.
Thanks Sean for your input. I will have to check out altering the springs. I took your advise this time with the water pan. I got it tacked up today.264024
Today I mounted the rack to the gantry and I was able to repair the water pan pieces. I am hoping tomorrow to have the water pan attached to the table. I am thinking about getting it hot dipped...
I guess my iPhone pics are getting turned on their side. Sorry

Here is where I am tonight. I got the z-axis mounted on the gantry. I am waiting on the water pan to be bent so I can weld it. I didn't want to attempt if on my brake. I didn't think that I would be...
In order to make sure the gantry tube was level, I welded it after it was clamped in place. I used an angle plate and clamped it to the top of the table and to the back of the gantry tube.263102
Here are some of the parts for the bearing block and the motors to attach to.263100263100
I don't know why the previous pic was rotated. I got the gantry plates made.263098
To align the rails I used a string and a magnifying glass. (thanks to kerryfisher for that idea)263092263096
After welding the top frame bowed. So I had to force it back down as close to level as I could. I actually heated a little more than I wanted. Anyway it isn't a problem a now.263088
This thread is my attempt to copy Dave Nelson's design. I don't have the tools, shop, or experience Dave has so I had to revert to some southern engineering to get where I am now.263086
Dave, Do you have a model number on the echain/cable carrier that you use? I tried one of your previous links but it isn't good anymore.
Thanks Travis
Frank, that looks good. What method did you use to keep your rails straight?
Frank contact velox cnc on ebay and see if they can get you the coupler you need.
Travis
The part numbers you are looking for are under the thread "building 2 5x10 plasma tables post number 94.
Nice Job! can you post some pics of the other side of the Y axis or the long side?
