    Hi all.

I hope this thread fits under this forum. The machine I'm using isn't really a DIY, I started with a Hermes V3400 engraver and have been hacking it apart to fit my needs, I began by...

Re: Milling FR4 PCBs, how hazardous?

OK! I think I'll put it in the plan to build a little enclosure for the machine, so I can trap any dust. For now I'll just be sure to wear dust masks :)

  8. Re: DIY Converting old engraver to full CNC router

I've engraved with the machine, yeah. My dad gave me some small plaques to test with when he gave me the machine originally. It worked OK but the one bit I have is dull. I haven't tried anything more...

Ok, well I think based on my own research, the lead screws I will keep for now. It seems the more pressing issue is the spindle. I have to figure out exactly how I'm going to fit a properly sized...
  10. DIY Converting old engraver to full CNC router

Well the mods didn't like the wording of my last post so it's now collecting dust in the engraving machines forum. Let me be clear that I am NOT asking for help with software or anything related to...

Yeah I don't understand why it's not considered DIY, the only thing I haven't changed on this machine is the case and lead screws and spindle...
  12. Revamping/upgrading old engraving machine

    Hi all!

So about a year and a half ago now I offered to rebuild an old broken down engraving machine my dad had at his company. It's a New Hermes Vanguard V3400. It's huge, and heavy, and slow....
