    Good stuff....Thanks guys.

    Well, this just about erased all my lifting/moving concerns...Thanks!

    I notice the PM-25MV appears to be on backorder, is this the norm? Also, does anyone expect...

    @CS900

    Excellent comparison video. I'm guessing at nearly 400 lbs these mills are somewhat unwieldly for a "loner" (no buddies or neighbors to call upon) to install and move around even with...

    Those quoted for Win7 are, but to stop auto updates in Win10 you run the group policy editor (GPE) and then choose "configure automatic updates". It isn't as straightforward as in the case of Win7....

    Re: Beware of Windows 7 update KB4088875

    I'm not a big fan of Windows updates either. Automatic updates is disabled, using GPE, on the three Win10 machines here because of the very reason you stated. "Never check for updates" is the update...

    Re: G0704 max 125 ipm

    Is the OP talking 125IPM cutting feed rate or rapids? I'm of the opinion it's the latter.
  15. Re: Is a treadmill motor a GOOD VFD / 3 phase induction motor substitute?

    I suspect many people don't realize that the treadmill drive/controller is also responsible for DC power. Not only for the DC motor but also for its own drive electronics. In the case of the MC-70,...
  16. Re: Is a treadmill motor a GOOD VFD / 3 phase induction motor substitute?

    Treadmill drives are a POS if realizing near full power capacity of the motor, over long periods of time, is a requirement. They're great for treadmills from a cost effective perspective (no...

  20. Re: Is a treadmill motor a GOOD VFD / 3 phase induction motor substitute?

    I wouldn't recommend a treadmill motor for spindle use on a mill if the drive that one is going to use is also from a treadmill (or similar). Why do I say that?.....

  21. Re: Simple control software or hardware, simulate manual operation, for CNC?

    Rather than hijacking this thread, a new thread with a video demo would probably be the best way to proceed. In the meantime, you've probably noticed that when one updates the time on better digital...
  22. Re: Simple control software or hardware, simulate manual operation, for CNC?

    Still doesn't refute what I stated which was that using traditional axis hand wheels can be more efficient than using other manual positioning methods like MDI, jog keys or digital wheels.
  23. Re: Simple control software or hardware, simulate manual operation, for CNC?

    CNC hasn't made tools like punches and edge finders obsolete for users of CNC capable machines. Positioning by sight still remains a reality.

  24. Re: Simple control software or hardware, simulate manual operation, for CNC?

    Positioning (before CNC G-code execution for example) via manual axis hand wheels can be more efficient than using jog keys and digital wheels when visual feedback is more relevant than exact...
  25. Re: Simple control software or hardware, simulate manual operation, for CNC?

    My first CNC conversion was a drill press for drilling homemade PCBs. During this I realized how losing manual control, and always having to depend on computer and CNC, was a PITA. Also, realized...

  28. Re: Create a (quiet) jet of air blowing without a compressor?

    You're being overly proactive. All jobs aren't going to require chip clearing once the cutting tool engages the work piece. I'm using a rinky-dink X2, in the video below, to mill 1/2" rolled steel...
  29. Re: Create a (quiet) jet of air blowing without a compressor?

    I use shorter air bursts where feasible, like here;

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6xt2tdoBrg&feature=youtu.be

    Actually prefer vacuum for chip clearing and again that would be where feasible.
