    Re: Postprocessor

Have you searched through the old delcam forum. If it's just 3 axis then I am sure there will be a working post someone has asked for previously.

  2. Re: post processor for mach3 (lathe for wood legs)

Hopefully you have the information you need to do what you want to do. By the looks of it you won't be allowed to discuss any further on here unless it's something we can help you with that doesn't...
  3. Re: post processor for mach3 (lathe for wood legs)

I'll say my apologies before this discussion is removed.

  4. Re: post processor for mach3 (lathe for wood legs)

I completely agree with you Craig. I think fusion have filled this particular issue by making entry based software that not only appeals to schools and the hobbyists. But to experienced users of...
  5. Re: post processor for mach3 (lathe for wood legs)

I dont get involved in cracked software. I have done in the past. This is why I have tried to steer that fellow onto fusion 360 but he has still said he will continue to use his cracked powermill. I...
  6. Re: post processor for mach3 (lathe for wood legs)

Yes this looks right except you don't have the baxis so the post will need tweaking to not use that axis. The rest seems fine.

  7. Re: post processor for mach3 (lathe for wood legs)

I would look on the powermill forum which is now adopted by autodesk. There will certainly be people who have had the same questions etc as you. If not create a question yourself and one of the gurus...
  8. Re: post processor for mach3 (lathe for wood legs)

Yes it should do. I used to have cracked version of 2016 and that would have worked but after I upgraded to Windows 10 no longer worked.

As long as you have ductpost installed and a post processor...
  9. Re: post processor for mach3 (lathe for wood legs)

But you are going to have to work hard on your post processor doing exactly what you want it too. But with fusion the online presence is huge so it's a good place to start I think.

    Yes fusion 360 is exceptional

  11. Re: post processor for mach3 (lathe for wood legs)

I use grbl post in fusion 360 and it works fine. You can even tweak the mach3 post to be capable of using 4th axis. There will be tonnes of info online on how to do that.

  12. Re: post processor for mach3 (lathe for wood legs)

Fusion will have its own mach3 post which will work no problem. And I use both fusion and powermill and if I had to start my own shop I would hands down use fusion. Its cheaper. Can grow with the...
  13. Re: post processor for mach3 (lathe for wood legs)

Without being too costly have you thought about fusion360.

I have quite a few milling machine posts but never had for a lathe I'm afraid.

Could you not utilise one of the template posts...

Re: Looking for CNC wood routing service

Worth sending your enquiry to total machining solutions [email protected] where I work. I cutbsome lovely Oak panels last year for a film job and we have pcd tooling which cuts wood well. Never...
  15. Re: 4 axis toolpath strategy needed to do the edges with a V-shape tool

Is the head of your machine able to tilt the a and c axis?
Could you not just create a comp curve pattern then pattern machining. Would take some editing so you only cut the edges you require etc....

Are you able to do swarf milling strategy?

You had any luck with this?

  18. Re: Setting Up Auto Toolpath Generation in Powermill

It can be done. You can record macros of your own inside powermill. If you tend to machine every job in the same way it can be really useful.

Say you always had a output workplace at the bottom...
