You have lots of questions, LOL. No worries, let me take a swing at them. My machine was a 320 not the 325 but maybe close.

I had a hard time figuring it out, I must have watched a few of those YouTube vids at least 10 times. I was trying to use PWM and the BOB wanted an actual frequency. PWM is a...

Larry;
I took screen shots of my spindle settings, there were settings on 8 different screens so it would be too confusing to explain. In my setup I'm driving a two speed gearbox with a VFD,...

Did you give up on Mach4 after? I just did the same thing with a C23 BOB plugged into the ESS.
Can't remember all the settings but I could get that info for you, if you still need it.

Craig;
Thanks for the help and conversation, it's always good to hear ideas and talk it thru. Before I started this Thread I had never been in the script editor of Mach4. It appears similar to...
Craig;
I tried your suggestion. It works to stop the motion but I can not get it to block a restart. I took your example and triggered the Estop
[mc.ISIG_MOTION_INHIBIT]=function(state)...

Thanks
I'll try it and compare the results

Yes you are correct, there are a lot of things that can be done with a programmable system such as Mach. I try and find the easiest way to Implement what's needed. I my case I really want...
Craig;
Thanks, that would explain what I am seeing. After thinking about it, I believe I will try to add code to link the signal to the "Machine Enabled" function. The enable button on the screen...
Hi All;
I'm a newbie with Mach4, hope someone can point me in the right direction. I'm having trouble utilizing the "Motion Inhibit" input. I have a set of servo ready signals wired to provide...

Real nice job, looks like you had your share of grime to deal with. They just look so good, all cleaned up. I wish I had the Power Knee. If I ever come by one I will certainly grab...
Sam;
Thanks for the details. I believe I see the progression of numbers. In my case, I have a 320 and its 3 Axis, has a 2 HP Spindle (3300 RPM max). Not sure what original electronics were on...

Thankfully the Top end of my machine was in great shape. I removed the Vari-Ratio setup and used a Timing Belt to a new motor. Top speed is a little higher than stock but it probably will...

Is there a code to the Tree numbering system. For instance I have a 320, what makes it different from a 310 or 325. I've never found much background info on the net about the Tree model...
Tim
BTW The gearbox appears to be identical except the 320 had no quill power feed output shaft.
Hi Tim
Thanks, it's been a long project. LOL This thing is a brute, No adjustable Head, Hopefully it proves to be nice, rigid machine. I'm in the process now of rewiring my first CNC machine,...
Hi All;
This old Tree 320 showed up in my garage in Nov 2016. I've been picking at it ever since. Got the basics working and have ran some test gcode. Please have a look at the few pics I took...
Sorry can't offer any info, but Iv'e been looking for one as well. Seems like all the wireless pendants are still only geared up for Mach3. Guess the manufacturers are slow with the mach4 plugins.
Bill;
We only started this retrofit a few months ago. It was put on the back burner for a long while. I don't have any useful pictures for you but I can tell you our plans for the spindle motor. ...

Sorry about the date thing, I looked back at your post and misread your join date as the post date.

Your 330 looks a lot like a 320 we are retrofitting now. Our original electronics included a paper tape reader and the control panel looked exactly like yours. We had the same Axis motors as well. ...
Hi All;
Just wondering if anyone has any positive or negative experiences with using a LattePanda single board computer to run Mach4 / ESS Smooth stepper setup. Their are a few single board...
Hi All;
A friend of mine has a Tree 320 which we plan to refurbish with Mach and new controls. We would like to replace the existing DC servo motors with AC servo motors. The old DC servos are...
Did you try changing to Incremental motion mode? That way your cnc moves will be relative to the current position, not the home position.
Jim
Yup, that parameter 84 might be a problem if it can't go past 120 hz.
These VFDs are designed for standard 50/60 hz motors.
You would think that the VFD should handle a 400 hz motor if the base...
I noticed the 120 hz max on the max speed parameter. It was stated above that the motor was already running above 120 hz so that max must change when you set 400 hz as your base. Yes you are...
I totally agree, swap out the VFD to one that accepts single phase input and change the cooling pump to single phase. Change the power cord, a few simple wiring adjustments and you are up and...

It looks like you have a VFD that must be electronically matched to the motor it is connected to. This is a common requirement for a VFD theses days. I took a look and found another manual...
