Hi guys,
I'd more than happy for recommendations on small batch material suppliers in Ontario/Canada: aluminum, steel, plastics.
I'm in Ottawa rural area, so online purchase + delivery would be a...
Another huge discount on Amazon.ca: just bought this Mitutoyo zero setter for $157.54. Regular price $400+ everywhere else.

Seems like it's worth monitoring Amazon for Mitutoyo...
Fresh thoughts following the assembly of the machine. I really regret for not adding the arm to my shopping list. I would say it should be a part of a minimum setup, otherwise good luck finding a...
The whole floor is shaking, I feel like this summer I gonna swallow a lot of concrete dust...
Is it OK to attach the fog buster container to the base under the chip tray, or it's too low?
Haha, I mean, is it safe to leave the workshop to freeze if I take a long break? I have only fog buster, no flood coolant system. Will Kool Mist 77 freeze? Found only the boiling point in the...
Actually, is there a real reason to keep the workshop warm? Can some serious frost damage the machine or other precise equipment, like indicators, calipers etc?
Hope nothing breaks down :)
Do you keep your machines warm in the winter?
Wow, that's really tight! :)
Another question, just don't want to open another thread: the floor in the shed is pretty flimsy and the whole machine is shaking when the table is moving. Is it a...
If the machine breaks down who provides the service in Canada? Or it supposed to be DIY?
Bwahaha! :D
I wish I had more space :)
Also hope the floor won't collapse, feels pretty flimsy...
Yep, I've got it, hard to believe!
Here we go :)

Wow, that's crazy, they sell it again for a quarter of the price!
But the old one looks just fine and it's dirt cheap... well, was...
The strange thing is that almost $500 is the real price. On Amazon.com and everywhere else it costs around USD 360 = the same CAD 500.
If it was a discount it made my Black Friday all the way....
I don't know what happened on the Canadian Amazon, but I've just bought a professional Mitutoyo indicator for 1/4 price.
Immediately after that the price jumped back to reality.
I'm just wondering...
Sure.
Anyways, I'm surely planning to use the machine for business and not for hobby. But it will take time, the learning curve may be pretty steep. I only design parts, never been from the other...
Yep, I'm a sole proprietor, but for a while all of my job is mechanical design.
Honestly, I have no idea. Maybe this may explain the 5%:

That's their estimation.
HST is only a half of the total sum.http://www.cnczone.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=379438&stc=1
Hmmm... didn't take the geography in account...
I'm from Ottawa, travelling to Windsor/Detroit definitely isn't worth it, and it's hard to believe they will bring the machine to Cornwall.
I wrote...
Did anybody try to self release the machine from customs?
I've got an estimation from a brokerage company and they actually doubled the HST price with their fees :(
Just wanted to thank you all guys, today I ordered the machine, cannot wait to receive it and start making chips! :)
I'm just looking on those tilting motorized rotary tables (P/N 31996 and 31997) and wondering if there is any chance that Tormach adds another stepper to these tables to allow 5 axis machining?
Thanks, now I see.
Another question: should I buy the dedicated 1280 x 1024 (4:3) monitor, or the Pathpilot will work on any other FullHD screen?
Uh-huh, maybe still worth it:

Updated list (for those who are also looking for a perfect starter kit :) )
32084 - PCNC 770 Series 3
31373 - Automatic Oiler (120V)
31748 -...
Shipping to Canada with DHL-another $25.34, add up taxes, DHL fees and charges... just isn't worth it.
But 34437 is only a set of cables... How do you run 4 cables through 1 USB port? Does the stand have dedicated ports for the KB, screen and the mouse? Probably I'm asking a stupid question......
BTW, how many USB Bulkhead ports do I need?
If the controller sits inside the machine base I can count at least 4 USB cables that should run out:
1. Keyboard
2. Mouse
3. Touch screen
4....
Just for the sake of order my updated list for your kind review :)
32084 - PCNC 770 Series 3
31373 - Automatic Oiler (120V)
31748 - PCNC 770 Owner's Kit
31191 - 770 Machine Stand

Don't you use the option to put the CNC vise on the side?
