Ok Burr, you have the last word. I give up. You're right I'm wrong. It wasn't crap, but heart-felt and sincere on my part. I'm actually upset about how you're acting over all this, and was trying...
Seriously Burr, it wasn't my intention to go causing issues. Everyone here is misconstruing everyone else because this topic was started so negatively.
I had thought when the guy said they...
Why the antagonistic attitude? I don't have an issue, but your answer was vague, so I inquired for further elaboration. Now I'm thinking it seems a bit intentionally so...
So be honest here...you...
So you only support it in the sense that if someone has an issue, you try to help them find a work-around ? You mean you stop making patches and fixes of known problems or found bugs?
Please...
Our accounting software costs significantly more than your workstation.

But you are correct in some respects. I doubt most CAD software would run well on the cheap laptops we...
I was speaking purely in terms of Software Company / Customer relationship. It doesn't matter what the software is for, if it has long term use, and the customer needs it and wants it to evolve as...
That is the trick, isn't it? I know that a few years back Rhino was working on a Mac OS version. I don't know anything about it, but it makes more sense to have all CAD/CAM and machining code done...
Can someone give me some understanding as to how the stock wizard helps you? I'm a woodworker (not a machinist), so I'm having a hard time understanding how this is a useful thing for me. If there...
Thanks for jumping in on this Sean.
Just to clarify, and for the record....do you mean that you continue to create new builds where known issues are patched, or just that you support it (tech...
Yeah Burr...Hopefully he got your message there...
I don't like those kinds of personal attacks on folks. I work with a number of folks who speak English as a second language, and it's not so easy...
Okay, now that you mention it, I did notice that my toolpaths had things like Subprograms in them that they didn't have before. If nothing else, it makes it easier to edit the final move of the...
Burr,
I wasn't "involving you" in my post except about the initial quote about versions vs updates... Sorry if it appeared that way. I have too much respect for you and have received too much...
To some degree that is true, but to some it's not. The new versions are usually the same software as the prior versions, with a few new features and bug fixes. In my world, it's not really a new...

The dust deputy is a nice little product, but I have a dust collector run right at the cnc. I'd prefer not to add something else to trip over in the shop.
:drowning:
I'm already using one that I made for using with my router, but it was side-loaded instead of front-loaded, and of course it's bit me a time or two. It will still work on my new spindle (2.2KW...
Thanks much! Not sure if I'll buy it or not though. Just a tad pricey for me, but probably worth it.
Any thoughts on the 4" hose vs dropping down to a smaller 2.5" standard shop vac fitting?
I heard that someone was making a dust shroud system with magnets for attaching the brushes. Does anyone know who that is?
Thanks,
Don W.
So we got them all running. Smooth...and very quiet compared to the Porter Cable router I was running. One of the guys had an issue with his water hose connector striping out though. Not sure if...
Ah..interesting. The tubing we found at Home Depot (aka Agent Orange) was either too small or too big, so we just ordered the correct size from McMaster Carr - Part# 5958K14, should anyone else need...
The All Star adhesives products are terrific. They have all kinds of great stuff there. It's a family owned and operated business, and they are terrific people. If you son't see what you're...
Where did you order the correct sized tubing? China? Canada? Europe? McMaster-Carr?
BTW...diyengineer - I ordered the cable from igus. It turns out they are located ten minutes from me, so I...
That's a good question. I didn't even think about that. Drill out, re-tap, use standard fittings from either Agent Orange or The Smurfs.
I would have to look and see what size O-rings are used...
Yes, naturally they are metric, which doesn't do us much good here. Worse, often times they aren't even a standard metric, they are something funky and we don't have the ability to buy parts to fit....
Oops....duplicate post. Sorry.
So my water-cooled spindle arrived today from China, and it has different fittings than what some folks have gotten on their units. These appear to take a metric sized tubing, and not the standard...
I heard that the shipping weight was around 6KG, so that sounds in the ballpark.
FWIW, I decided against the 3KW air cooled spindle mainly due to weight. It's almost 27 lbs, and I feel it's too heavy for my router Z axis to handle. I went for a water-cooled 2.2KW spindle...
My total run is going to be in the neighborhood of 25' I think The specs on the Hitachi would almost seem to indicate that 14 gauge would be better actually. But I don't know anyone who has used 14.
Thanks diyengineer. I'll get a bunch of that stuff ordered.
Wow...finally getting rid of the noisy router!!!
The crazy thing is...I just found out that I live ten minutes from igus. Who...
