Re: Tormach 1100 Random Z issue

Do you have an automatic oiler? It could be the hydraulic force of the oiler pushing the saddle and table up during oiling, thus the cutter cutting deeper on one or two passes only.

Does the MX come factory with a BT-30 spindle? Or is that optional, like on a series I, II, III ?

Re: Tormach 1100M Info Possible Series 4!

As was I. I was hoping for a longer bed, doesn't need more horsepower for what I do. 8" between centers with the 5C and 4" between centers with a 3jaw is extremely limiting.

    Re: Tormach 1100M Info!

    Cool. We need more specs.

I wonder when NYCCNC will get one.
  9. Re: Tormach 2200 Professional CNC - your dream list

The 1100 is adequate for what I do. The stand, however, is not. I use flood coolant and the stand leaks like sieve, does not drain the coolant back to the tank very well, the coolant tank is too...

    Re: PSG612 Z Accuracy Improvement

So your hunch was correct? Did you essentially disable the counter-weight? I don't have a grinder so I'm not familiar how it works, but I am considering getting one so I want learn as much as I can...

Do the ball screws grow as the machine warms up and do they then, shrink back down when sitting idle for a while?

I can't help you here as this is uncharted territory for me. But I'm interested in this subject.

    Thread mill NPT threads

Can the PathPilot conversational thread mill internal NPT threads? I haven't upgraded to PP yet, I'm still on Mach.

    Re: which Haimer?

How can you use the Haimer for zeroing the Z axis if you put it directly into an R8 collet?
