    Re: UHU (and HP) Parameters

    Some progress this weekend.
First of all, my original style UHU controller from Irfan has a DB-9F for the connection to the PC. That's pretty well standard for RS232 COM ports. Male on the PC...

    UHU (and HP) Parameters

I've found some time to restart a 9 year old project. I have a UHU drive (and unfinished HP-UHU)

Say I wanted to use this motor:...

Impressive project that you are able to get simple step/dir motion control working. As the author of the ELS developed with user feedback on the yahoo E-Leadscrew group I can certainly understand...

I still have my HP UHU boards. Still have plans to use them. So many projects. So little time. Does Henrik still sell the CPU modules?

Re: High Power UHU Thread (HP.UHU)

Although mine are still sitting in a box as are the motors and hardware I will say thank you for the update but I am bit confused. I have a drawing Revision 1.0c that shows the resistor and diode...

I have the same question for AlibreCAM with respect to defining a 1/16" and 1/8" radius round over tool.
I imagine it ends up being a profile operation with the depth set to the radius?

The package is a standard size and uses a standard footprint. Normally such a package has 6 pins. Hence the numbering.

    Hi Bob,

Good point. I see the same connection on the layout drawing and on my board. What it appears to do is pull Pin 3 of U12 low as if an ESTOP happened.

I too must be missing something...

I would like to enter. Interesting fact #1 -- I may finally get around to casting HP-UHU heatsinks this summer.

I can only speak for myself. I have a few HP-UHU controllers and the motors. But other projects got in the way for a while and a customized heatsink casting has yet to have a pattern built for it....

    Hi Ron,

Any consumer equipment is built with the AC and DC in the same box. But the regulations are pretty clear about keeping things separate. For that matter a switching power supply as AC on...

Looking at the two drawings again I remember why it's two boards.

It's not good (or safe) design practice to mix the AC power side with a digital logic side. Even your power supply box or...

    Bent acme screws

I decided before I plunge into belts I'd try 5/8"x5tpi ball screws from ROTON. I ordered a 72" length and two ball screws. The ball nuts are just small enough to fit where the plastic nut assembly...

    Sticky: Project delayed

Rats. Finally got the bench glued up. Was fitting the bottom torsion box and accidently dropped it through the top. That smashed off the end of the torsion box.

    Major screwup.
