  3. Re: Single axis electrical discharge machine ( EDM )

A lot of time has passed and a lot of things have change. The single axis sinker EDM is now a fully 3 axis EDM CNC that can do sinker EDM, EDM engraving, Drilling and also Wire EDM.

    Hi,

After building this big CNC router in the past I decided to move on.

  7. Re: Rate this kit... vfd, steppers, spindle, psu...

For a VFD you want one with vector control. I don't think the one you posted has that feature. The cheap nowforever E100 VFD has a simple vector control that gives good torque even at lower speed.
  8. Re: False E-stop triggers. Need help finding and eliminating noise.

    Hi,

could you add pictures of your control box? Is the box connected to the router so that the box vibrates? Do you have floating Pins?

PS: This is how I ground the wire shields:

Re: Wiring NPN NC sensors to DB25-1205 BOB

Basically yes. But only the black wire is connected with the BOB. Blue and Brown are at the 12v Terminalblock behind the Z Axis and from there only one 2x 0.75mm^2 goes back to the controlbox and...

Re: Wiring NPN NC sensors to DB25-1205 BOB

This is how it looks now:

The -ve from both power supplies are bridged now.

    All + & - from the sensors (brown/blue) are connected to a 12v Terminal at the z-axis.

    All black signal wires...

Thanks for the infos. Only one sensor per Pin is connected.

If it is no problem to connect to both -ve then it is working as it should.

    Sensors are LJ12A3-4-Z/BX

Wiring NPN NC sensors to DB25-1205 BOB

Hi, I'm a bit confused about how to wire the often used NPN proximity switches.

    The setup:

    1x 12v Power Supply
    1x 5v Power Supply
    DB25-1205 chinese BOB
    6-36v Proximity Sensor NPN NC

The build is not fully ready so I haven't used it yet. But soon.

The Z Axis back & front are 20mm. If I remember correct they are about 170mmx400mm. The portalbackplate is 25mm with an extrusion...
  15. Re: 80/20 with HGR25/HGH25 Linear Rails/Bearings

If you really want to use extrusions make sure to place 20mm or even 40mm solid Aluminium below the linear rails of the Y Axis. The surface of the extrusions is not even. It's concave to the slots....

    Re: Size for ground wires

I'm form germany and the whole machine must get inspected if it's going to run in a shop. And it is planned to do so. But on my budget it would be good if this only needs to be done once.
