Oh, by using a converter to get AB, I will surly loose the Abs feature...
Do you know of any affordable converter / encoder emulator to get ABZ out of a resolver ?
Thanks for enlightening me Al... Will have to do some reading...apparently the best thing for reliability and cost effectiveness...
If you were me(with what YOU know, of course), would you reuse...
Hi guys,
Had a hard time prying the cap off with a screw driver, wedged between the housing and cap... had to lightly hammer(M16 hex bolt head) on the screwdriver.
Right on the money freaky !...
Thanks very much for the reply Al !
The control was an old Fanuc 0MB / 6MB...if it can help :) an there was no sticker on the encoder from what I could see, it was laser marked on SS encoder...
Hello,
Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but it should be in topic.
Al, I have a similar motor with 20-29 marked inside the CANNON MS Connector, from one of your other posts I have found :...
Took a closer look at the test weld beads, and I can say that it's the first time I got no undercuts on the sides, its easy to look down on mods which took way longer to accomplish than expected but,...
Distribution transformer frames is what I had found...
Hi Craig,
The local repair shops(very few) around are into $$$ electronic TIG/MIG welders I only found a very small air core inductor and the ESAB technician never saw anything bigger than that.
...
Hi Craig,
Its working ! Thanks very much !
It's burning 3.25mm 7018DCEP beautifully. 4mm is hard to start/ sticks on cold metal but welds ok/(colder side of ok) on hot metal.
Measured the...
Thanks for pointing that out !
Yes they are physcially separated from each other and at about 90° angle(cores' axes) because of short leads / cramped connection.
BTW, I did check and they are...
Hi Craig,
Well I have no inductance meter but, they are about 90mm air core diameter and wound in two layers, maybe 100mm long. Any figure about the required inductance ?
Can I use the rotor...
Hi Craig,
Yes, I did exactly as the schematic you posted, I do have two big air core inductors wired in series.
is it possible that the two inductors are cancelling each other if the winding...
Hi guys !
It's been a long time,
I have finally come across some capacitors (3pcs Krummer 30,000µF@200V) at the scrap yard for real cheap, they were a bit dinged but not punctured so I gave'em...
Hi guys !
I need to build up a splined shaft from 52mm(top of spline is 60mm) up to 70mm O.D over a length of about 110mm then, anneal it, bore it 50mm I.D, turn it, carburize it, heat treat it...
Thanks for the help guys, I'll be looking for cheap caps... heck the guy who sold me the chokes had a pack of big caps with no (V/µF) markings on them except for a part number.
Thanks very much !
Well, I have measured OCV without caps with two different DMMs with the welder on its highest setting (n°7),
and I got 49.5VAC before & 44.6VDC after the bridge rectifier... yes the heat sink was...
Last time I measured 40VDC was without the caps only the inductors so, VAC x 0.9 it is.
Are you sure it'd fry the bridge ? BTW, I have made a bridge out of SKN130 diodes if that makes sense, for...
Probably an "intelligent" safety feature ?
Thanks very much !
Hi,
Accounting for voltage drop at the bridge, I measure 40VDC, so it's even lower.
First time I measured I remember it was reading 90VDC and had to check that it wasn't off limits for welding...
Thanks for the link ! "one will try to do all the work and then blow" I had that idea in mind but wasn't sure from where I got it, if it was true or a myth/assumption...
At this price, if I fail...
Oh thanks for the real world numbers... I won't be bothering with those tiny caps any more... my tests with 6013 looked like DC welds but were misleading.
I have approx the same circuit, with two...
Oh yeah, what was I thinking ?
Thanks very much !
Hi guys !
I added a bridge rectifier to an AC welder + inductors + capacitors to be able to weld DC...
The capacitors I have are 2x 2200µF @400V the output voltage is only 90VDC but the...
Thanks for the replies Al !
Word of mouth... double edged sword......it takes skill & art to achieve.
Thanks for the info but, the main problem is the lack of machine documentation & the...
Thanks for the advice he1957 !
Well guys, just to set the record straight, the cheap Chinese motors I am considering have been tested and recommended by a reputable, experienced guy(also a member...
Cool !
Thanks very much !
Wow, very nice sum up, & funny too, talk about golden 2 cents ;)
Thanks very much Hytek !
Thanks or the tip !
Dynomotion/Kflop/Kmotion is interesting, too bad it relies on a windows host but, there's apparently a Linux port...
Thanks very much !
