I'm replacing some bearings and, as I removed the motor, I was looking at the seal in the head and noticed the V edges of the seal were sitting
well above where they would make contact with the...

    Re: Charter Oak not responding?

Phone is still connected, web site still up.
Maybe he died in the shop and no one knows!
This poor business has been on a banana peel ever since Aaron sold it.

    Charter Oak not responding?

I called looking for a 1 phase take off motor, no answer, went to voice mail but the mailbox is full.
    Anyone know what's up?

Does anyone come around here anymore?

    Help removing bearing

Well...doesn't look as if anyone comes around anymore but I'll ask anyway.

    No, unfortunately.
CNC is beyond me I'm afraid.

No, I'm just hoping to see what the nuts look like in anticipation of new screws. Get an idea of the mountings, etc.

OK, perhaps I'm misusing terms but it's a bear to get the hand crank to move initially.

Once it's moving it's not extremely bad, but it sure seems if there was a counter balance it'd be less force...

Manual mill Z axis suggestions welcome

    Please pardon the non-CNC intrusion.

I have one of the last manual mills Aaron sold and I'm of an age now that cranking the head up will result in shoulder damage that I'd REALLY like to avoid.

I'm putting this befuddlement down to the fact that I've got too many projects going at once and not age.

That works for me and I'm stickin' with it!

    Here's the question.
