    You are spot on Roger, 35uM = 0.035mm.

    When stepper feedrate is high one ends up copper whiskers or burrs.
    I can easily manage with mill 0.3mm PCB tracks with 20º 'V' bits 0.1mm tip, remember...

    If both axis are running on lead screws, just ensure it has anti-backlash nut installed and working.

    I'm assuming your CNC is Hermes V3400 engraver.

    What's the size of your steppers? Is your Z axis fitted with a plasma touch? from post #893 or do you only do plasma cutting?
    If yes then I recommend replacing your Toshiba TB6560AHQ...

    The TB6600HG has all the improvements lacking in TB6560 and yes of cause without startup sequence describe in the
    TB6560 tech. manual as this is automatically handled on TB6600HG.

    Have said all here and on USB CNC forum, these PWM chips are from Toshiba and noting wrong with the chip
    design it's self and at the time. Toshiba has a replacement for TB6560 PWM chip...
