Nice, did you make a permanent setup?
It's been a few months, any progress to show us.My modified JGRO is still working just fine, had to replace the router several times after wearing them out but all it well.Show us the pics!
Upon first look, it looks like there is a ghost element that has an associated tool path. Or, you have some offset to your tool path?
Good Luck
That is most appreciated, will you be using the newer version of Blender.?
Nicely done especially the bearing inside/outside swap on the gantry.
And remember it's not the size of your tool but how you use it.
My slightly modified JGRO has been going for many years, have...
I listed an interesting thread below, the person who is offering this free plugin with his tutorial on how to use it has also visited the thread mentioned. And yes I said the plugin is free for an...

MakiBox - Think outside the Box.
It is always good to hear of others triumphs, this method is very similar to using self-adhesive cupboard paper. The only things I would be afraid of using packing tape is that packing tape could...
Yeah, I have had my doubts and reservations with parting with $350 but I did not have the time to commit to buying and building all the needed parts for a conversion. And I did not mind waiting for...
Might I ask what the costs were in adding this to your CNC router?
When I looked into the costs it was starting to get up around the $300 mark for all the parts and then I would have to manually...
Lou,
Windows has associated the Cut2D files with the first version so you will have to re-associate the Cut2D files with the newer version.
Tom
Nice, I downloaded the update and had it running in no time and yes importing the tool database was super easy.
This version has some nice tools that will be very useful.
Yeah for Vectric!!
Got to post a reply, somehow I unsubscribed myself from my thread ;)...must have something to do with getting older.
With the indulgence of the original poster I will answer just these few questions and thank you for the comments.
lazorus,
I have not decided that point yet, as with everyone else I have...
I like it, my next machine is already underway and it too will be fully welded. Here are a few pics of the base minus the stand yet to be made. My gantry will be very much the same as to what you...
You can also check the link above for the latest a greatest on their progress.
I have been very busy at work lately and have not had time to think about it, but now that I am I cannot wait for it to...
Hey Danny that looks good, sorry have not responded earlier as my wife and I were on holiday for our 28th anniversary. Well until a stable version of this patch shows up for version 2.62 I believe I...
CrazySkyDiver,
Try going to the dollar stores for your shevling paper needs I found some clear stuff at a local one in town and it only cost $1.
Tom
aues, good to hear that you have it working under the Windows OS, if you could get the 2.62 version stabilized that would be a big feather in the cap of all DIYers.
hhwxcb8mnm, That is awesome...
Thanks for all your hard work Danny, I would love to assist you in the Windows conversion, just like you I have too many irons in the fire and not enough time to get to them all. Let me know what I...
Me too, I am to draw up some designs to print when the machine arrives.
Glad to have you on board.
As the title says another 3d printer that costs $300 + $50 shipping.

Thanks for the links Danny, I will take this knowledge back over to the Blender Artists forum and ask if this newer patch will work with ver 2.62.
Tom
Well folks, I have plenty of CAD knowledge and have recently started using Blender just for the express purpose of dressing up photographs into 2.5D stl files. And coming from the CAD side this is a...
The ones I posted are all acrylic 0.22", the bit was an Bosch 60 degree bit, speeds were only 30ipm and the depth of the cut was at 0.1", I cut them in reverse from the back so the front was nice and...
Very cool, keep the faith
If your 3D app of choice can output an stl file then all you need to do is run the tool paths on your model.
And yes none of these packages work together as they are all proprietery.
PBXbearing.com has the full rail and round stock but you might be able to email them and ask about just the rail.
Did you see my last response? If you redesign your machine to have a moving table...
Yes Aspire, the Holy Grail of CNC enthusiatists everywhere.
I need to complete my number 2 machine first before I can afford to get that software.
I do like the looks of Cut 3D also, MechCam is...
That might work, but in cutting that bearing truck you might damage or loose the bearings encased inside the truck.
What is the length of the long axis?
You might want to consider a stationary...
