  1. Re: Unable to post multiple machining operations from Rhinocam

It turned out that there was an update that I didn't know was available. I had reinstalled Rhinocam from my original CD and then not checked for updates after that. The update fixed the problem.
  2. Re: Unable to post multiple machining operations from Rhinocam

Thanks, I’ve tried that too— it appears to select multiple operations, but only the bottom one in the selected group gets posted.
  3. Unable to post multiple machining operations from Rhinocam

Because of a recent hard drive failure I had reinstall Windows 10, and Rhino3d 5 and Rhinocam 2012. It all works fine again except for one thing: I can no longer select multiple machining operations...

    Re: Ballscrew supported-end bearing

Okay, thanks. My K2 does bave ballscrews and servos. I ended up replacing the bearing, but also realized that the play was not in the bearing itself, but between the bearing and the housing. I’m not...

    Ballscrew supported-end bearing

I've noticed that the bearing at the supported end of the Y-axis ballscrew on my K2CNC has noticeable radial play (I can wiggle the end of the ballscrew side-to-side several thousands). Is this...

    Re: Spindle/machine grounding

Okay, thanks. So should I connect my VFD ground to my control box ground (where the machine is grounded), or it it enough that they are bith grounded back at the breaker panel? Will connecting the...

    Spindle/machine grounding

I know there have been a lot of discussions of grounding practices, but I haven’t found a definitive answer to this one:

I recently added a VFD and spindle to my K2CNC, and I think I’m having...

    Re: K2 2525LT Y axis tram adjustment

No, I haven't had that happen. Occasionally it just stops while running G code and I have to start it again. Does yours have the Kflop controller? If so you might ask about it in the Dynomotion...

    Re: K2 CNC manual

Unfortunately, I don't think they came with what one would normally call a manual. Mine came with a one-page document that basically just said to click the Init and Home buttons to get started....

    Re: K2 2525LT Y axis tram adjustment

I recently trammed my K2 in the Y direction by shimming the lower X-axis bearings. It was easy to do once I realized what needed to be done. I used two 1" wide strips of brass as shims. If you raise...

    Re: Delta VFD power requirements

Okay, thanks! I’ll just go with 30 amps to be safe. There seems to be a lot of erroneous information online where people assume that only 10 amps single phase is needed to power these 2.2 kw spindles.

    Re: Delta VFD power requirements

Okay, thanks! Is it the 1ph to 3 ph conversion that accoints for the huge difference in input and output current?

    Delta VFD power requirements

I just ordered a Delta VFD022M21A VFD to power a 2.2kw spindle, and I was surprised to see in the manual that it draws 28 amps (240v single phase). Does that seem high since it is only powering a 10...

    Taig lathe drilling capacity

I'm hoping to make some wooden wind instruments that require a 1/2" bore to be drilled in hardwood end grain with a gun drill. Irrespective of the length of the bed, would it be asking to much of the...

Re: KG-3925 no green light on reset box

Just out of curiosity, what is it that you don't like about the Kflop controller? What are the advantages of replacing the electronics instead of getting Kflop set up?
  19. Re: Basic question: how do I get Kmotion to create Bode plots?

There seems to be no effect, other than the position in the Axis window gets zeroed. There's still no movement when I press Move, and the machine still becomes disabled (i.e. the light goes off).
  20. Re: Basic question: how do I get Kmotion to create Bode plots?

Okay, here's something that may help--I just noticed that the green light on the E-Stop box that indicates that the machine is "enabled" turns off when I push "Move" in the Step Response screen. I'm...
  21. Re: Basic question: how do I get Kmotion to create Bode plots?

Okay, I followed all the steps, and Axis#0 does indeed change on the Axis screen when I jog the axis in KmotionCNC. However, there still appears to be no movement in Step Response. Here's the...
  22. Re: Basic question: how do I get Kmotion to create Bode plots?

Sorry for the delay. I've uploaded all of the included files, except KMotionDef.h, which I couldn't seem to find?

I understand now about the thread #6 file-- the K2MC_Driver one is just what...
  23. Re: Basic question: how do I get Kmotion to create Bode plots?

The servos are holding position-- I can push them a few steps and they move right back.

Sorry, I do have to push an Init button in KMotionCNC, which runs this file:...
  24. Re: Basic question: how do I get Kmotion to create Bode plots?

Thanks Tom-- here are the configuration and step response windows. The servos hold their position; i.e. there's no motion at all. I've tried moves of different sizes, with the same...
  25. Re: Basic question: how do I get Kmotion to create Bode plots?

Thanks for your help, Tom. I went into the Config and Flash screen and uploaded the configuration for all three axes, and it seemed to load the correct data, as far as I can tell. However, there's...
  26. Basic question: how do I get Kmotion to create Bode plots?

I have a K2CNC machine that works fine but I was curious to see how the step response/Bode plots look. However, when I try to create them the servos don't respond at all when I try to take...

    Re: Gamepad and other questions

Yes, that's definitely an option, it just seems like enabling a keystroke to toggle though the step sizes shouldn't be too big a deal (not that I have any clue how to go about it ;)

    Re: Gamepad and other questions

    Hi Tom,

Maybe it's changed since last time I looked at it, but I'd like to be able to change the step size (i.e. 0.01", 0.001") and move the axes (particularly the Z) all without having to use the...
