    Re: KBMM-125 Question.

It is simple with a DPDT relay, doing it this way you just have to observe when the motor has stopped before reverse takes place, you can also add another relay and also switch in the L1 & L2...

    Re: AC or Dc

It depends on the present condition of the DC servo's, brushes, comm, etc.
What make?, do they have encoders mounted to them?
Also what drives are fitted, and type of servo drive command signal?...

  6. Re: Cold weather affecting proximity sensors?

I would not consider 30°f cold, not here at any rate.
Many of the prox sensors I use are rated much lower than that, for e.g. the Omron style are rated to -40°c = to -40°F.

  7. Re: is it possible Clearpath servo's do not provide encoder feedback?

The old original DC drives were velocity mode drives and used a tach for the 'inner' loop, the encoder was the 'outer' loop, the inner loop was always tuned first then the outer loop, now DC motors...

Re: emergecy stop condition after E stop

Sounds as though the controller is not seeing any feedback, or the feedback (encoder) date is wrong.
    What controller is this?
I had a similar fault on a Fanuc 0 turned out to be a motor tuning...
  9. Re: Yaskawa Ac Servo encoder re alignment

If the encoder commutation is serial, this method won't work, but it is worth a shot to take a look at the waveform, I used ~ 200rpm for back driving.

  10. Re: Yaskawa Ac Servo encoder re alignment

I assume this is the commutation tracks on the encoder?
If so, what is the nature of the feedback? Pulse(s)?
In all likely hood it is a AC servo and not BLDC, both motors are essentially...

    Re: 5v proximity sensors

They don't mention whether open collector or includes a pull up resistor, either way you would need one, I assume that they are 5v for use with TTL logic or a micro-processor for e.g.

  12. Re: is it possible Clearpath servo's do not provide encoder feedback?

Not quite true, There are many systems that have used the same method as I have often done with a Galil Motion controller, there is only ONE CPU involved, that in the Galil Card.
    The drives are...

  14. Re: excello 602/ spindle wizard 610 exy retrofit/rebuild and i need help.

Mine had the 1:1 and 6:1 reduction GB as well as the VariSpeed, so I just removed the Varispeed and retained the G.B. and made the motor to GB 1:1 and used the GB low gear for low RPM machining.

There is a educational video on the Galil Motion site by Dr Jacob Tal that explains how to use motor encoders and scales, The PID feedback loop is split between the motor and the scale, this is...
  17. Re: is it possible Clearpath servo's do not provide encoder feedback?

I have installed servo systems since the 80's and found that using the correct cable for encoders such as the Belden 9891 interference is not an issue.
One of the advantages to closing the loop in...

    Re: Motors

You need to fit encoders to the motors, in some cases through-hole encoders can be used by using the old Tach shaft, otherwise you would need to mount them with couplers.
    Modern servo's come with...

One reason they do not sell servo motors with tachometers any more is they are no longer used on modern drives.
