    Sounds like a Mantech machine, sorry to say there engineers are not very good.
    I have one of there machines, and have changed all except the chassis and now have a cracking machine.

    Have you got any pictures of the layout at the moment, changed mine over over a year ago and is so much better with new controller.

    Your old board would still have used stepper drivers, the stepper motor is connected to the driver and the driver to the board.

    Try lowering the speed and see if that helps, looks like in picture 3 you did not set the origin.
