  1. Re: My 60w chinese machine wont work as it was working

Rigging an ammeter in series with your tube will help narrow down the source of the problem too. You can at least test to see if the power supply is outputting the correct current.

Re: Want to build stationary 1000w laser

    http://www.cnczone.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=387232&stc=1

This is a slug from flat sheet 2mm thick HRPO. There's no reason to expect a pierce on a tube to be significantly different...

Re: Want to build stationary 1000w laser

And to keep "accurate standoff" the head has to rise and fall perpendicular to the work piece, be it tube or sheet. And by convention, this axis is referred to as the Z axis. But you can call it the...

    Re: Co2 laser and plastics

Edge quality is pretty poor with laser cut polycarbonate. Also the smoke is horrible. I've never tried petg though.

Re: 130w co2 laser LOSS OF POWER

Glad you sorted out the problem! There are additives that are safe to use for laser coolant but I don't know off the top of my head any brand names.

Re: Want to build stationary 1000w laser

Standoff from nozzle tip to surface should also be around 1mm. Nozzle aperture maybe 1.5mm. But all these cutting variables will be slightly different between different machines.

Re: Want to build stationary 1000w laser

    Your tube/part feeder sounds great.

I've used both 5" and 7.5" lenses for 2mm MS tube and you can usually get good results with either. The longer focal length iof the 7.5" is perhaps better in...

Re: Want to build stationary 1000w laser

I can't help with pricing. I don't know if a fibre laser could do this type of work. I'm only familiar with CO2 tube cutting so keep that in mind regarding the following.
Also bear in mind I'm an...

Re: Want to build stationary 1000w laser

What sort of pipe material? What quality finish to you expect? Wall thickness? This sounds like way overkill just to cut pipe. Is there a reason you absolutely have to have a laser perform the...

    Re: Problem with engraving

So when you say light path ok, and working table ok, what did you do to make sure they were both ok? Clean mirrors and lens, check beam alignment? And what about table height, did you check the...

    Re: Laser engraver

You need to decide a few things:
    1. What materials you want to work with
    2. Etching only, or cutting too?
    3. How big are the objects you want to work with?
    4. That link incorrectly states the...

    Re: Looking for G-code software

A VB or JS script could do this. But unless you're familiar with them the learning curve would be prohibitive. What about Notepad++ Home and record some macros?

  22. Re: : ( New laser is speckling or dotting my work piece.

It could also be a component in the beam path not secured properly. Say..... a mirror that is vibrating during x/y motion or something. If it was the beam clipping the inside of the nozzle the...
  23. Re: : ( New laser is speckling or dotting my work piece.

Any damage to any of the mirrors? I've never seen that sort of shotgun effect on any laser I've used regardless of lens condition. And I've used some extremely crappy lenses lol.

  25. Re: Laserengraver - text/logo not good, "3D effect" on the sides

Yes, it could be a bad mirror too. I suggest you do some maintenance of the optics. Clean all your mirrors and lens. Then check the mirror alignment. No I don't know exactly how to do this on your...
