Yes Ray, it was the hex clamps that I have had problems with. They really work poorly.
I will look into the Uniforce clamps.
BTW, what brand/style HSS endmill are you currently using? I...
I always love reading your posts Ray. Thanks for sharing.
I have used the Miteebite fixture clamps before and often had them come loose during machining and my part and cutter was instantly...
Interesting. I have used the AD switches on my Series 2 BP and was able to get them to work fine.
Your mounting holes for the switches and the "L" tab which trips the switch should be there. I believe Automation Direct limit switches have the same bolt pattern as the original switches.
If it is not a rigid ram machine, you can bolt on a manual 2J head.
Yeah, he never responded to my private e-mail.
What a way to get business....put up some posts then not give the password.
Sounds like a cheesy businessman to me.
I heard that you can get...
Is that what solidcamx wants?
Looks good so far. I can't wait to see it on your mill.
7-zip is asking for a password for these files.
Oh, it is InventorCAM 2012 if the release year matters.
Thanks,
Scott

Thank You.
Thank you. Can you recommend a program to open .RAR files?
Thanks HawkJET.
I need one for InventorCAM for a Centroid control. It takes Fanuc code. The posts that come with InventorCAM are full of bugs. Shameful that they even include such poor posts.
I need a set of these covers really bad...
cncboss6, do you have any extra covers or parts? I see you only need a RH one.
HawkJet, - what do you use to cover your ways now? Did you get rid of...
Sounds like it would be just as easy, and cost effective to use a control program like Mach 3 to run it. You can use it (mach) up to 1000 lines of code for free. At least then you would be able to...
I see it is a step pulley. I only have a BP manual for the 2J head. I can PDF that to you if you PM me your e-mail. The lower end of the head should be the same anyway.
They have been making various models for over 20 years....forget I tried to help.
I guess it would help if we knew what the machine looked like...Is it a Bridgeport knockoff?
Call Grizzly. They have a great tech support dept and I recently was able to purchase gears for my 16 year old horizontal bandsaw. They should be able to at least supply you with an exploded parts...
Put an AJAX on it. It is the DIY version of Centroid. If you get your own servo motors, you can get hooked up with AJAX for about $2000. I stalked E-bay and got good deals on DC servo motors with...
Yeah, both my machines are drilled. I will just use the QC toolholders I have. I doubt that I paid over $30 or maybe $35 for each one, so I don't think they are worth selling and replacing. I have...
Pictures and more details of your power drawbar as it comes along. I am thinking along the same lines, the QC30 has always made me nervous.
QC 30 is not good for very heavy cuts. I have heard other horror stories about them falling out and ruining the spindle. You are lucky you don't have to have your taper reground. I guess that you...
I don't know for sure what it is, but those old steppers can be flakey. People have reported problems with them in the past. I think most people put modern steppers on their machines.
If they are like my BP limit switches, the top rubber seal is either missing or leaking bad. My switches were filled with oil also. I cleaned them out when I rebuilt the hardware.
What are you running for axis motors? Servos? Steppers? Original steppers?
All 3 axis are the same reduction ratio.
Hmmm....may want to pass that one by AJAX tech support to see what they do. I soldered my DB9 connectors on my cables after I slide on a watertite fittings.
