I'm attempting to turn on a Mori Seiki SL-3 and can only get it to come on "most of the way". That is, the control is "ON", shows Z and X position but nothing will move and NO alarms are displayed.

In reply to my own post--seeing this months later--this turned out to be a bad cable/connection.

We have a SL6 with Yaznac 2000G and occasionally see Alarm 14 when selecting “Tape In” to read a new file from a pc connected via the RS-232 port. This has gone from occasionally to an unavoidable...

I realize this is over a year ago- did you come to a conclusion or find the problem with this?
We have a SL6 that had the same error but it turned out to be an over traveling sensor on the tail...
