  1. Re: Precision problems with our new Usb controller update from Larken.

    Hello,

How did you configure for the changes?
How many steps per inch using the existing steppers and screws?
Did you close the system by using the encoders?
    The E-Cut board, if it's a USB...

    Re: New 24/24

    Hi Larry,

That's all very good to know! So the controller interpreter supports G-code! I like it.
Also that Post is great, I can use Vectric now!
Thank you for elaborating on what StarCAM can...

    Re: New 24/24

    Thank you Larry,

So StarCam isn't for setting cut paths but instead it's for positioning and exporting via Spooler, correct?

The only way it works is to load the G-Code into StarCam and use the...

    Re: New 24/24

    Thanks Larry,

I'll email instead and send the G-code file today (latest Monday), we managed to finish the job yesterday using Corel Draw and the StarCAM software but I'd still like to get Vectric...

    Re: New 24/24

    Hi Larry,

I'll give you guys a call today; the controller box interfaces to the PC via USB, so I'm assuming Logic and an interpreter hence the need for a Post. I exported a cut path yesterday to...

Larken 24/24 CNC Post for Vectric Aspire?

    Hello,
Does anyone by chance know where I can find a Post for Vectric Aspire and a Larken 24/24? StarCam works but I like Vectric better.
Thanks for any and all help.

Re: Cheap 1500W Chinese spindle, experiences?

Wow you have some reading to do Mactec54

Think about what is transpiring in a Mechanical (Electrical) sense, do you think that VFD is supplying the Motor with AC Voltage? Think about that first...

Re: Cheap 1500W Chinese spindle, experiences?

What's incorrect about what I stated?
Check the rating of the VFD, it's a no brainer.... Don't plug 220 into 110V, also if it's 220VAC vs 110VAC it has nothing to do with a "Doubler" it's a Coil....

Re: Cheap 1500W Chinese spindle, experiences?

Just one thing more related to the input you where asking about.
"L & N as input. This typically is used for 120V. If it had said L1, L2 and N then I would be more comfortable"

    If you see "L1 L2"...

Re: Cheap 1500W Chinese spindle, experiences?

For this there's one thing you need to figure out and that is.... How does the VFD connect to the Computer. Is it "Serial" or "Parallel"?

If it's a Serial Connection you will need to configure...

    Re: Circles are not round

    Belts are at play here!

Alright... Probably just one belt on the X axis, it's loose.

If it's not the belt you've got backlash.

    Easy fix!
  13. Re: makita router rpm constantly reving up/down any one had this problem?

I could see something like what you described transpiring, however if the VFD is used by means of PWM (Mach Control as you describe) even a brushed motor will stay operating at a nice temperature....
  14. Re: makita router rpm constantly reving up/down any one had this problem?

Changing the control software will not fix anything, a simple Capacitor will.
Yes just like a car, or boat, if you have a load on the spindle motor the rpm will change because of load, ALL spindles...
  15. Re: makita router rpm constantly reving up/down any one had this problem?

What does that have to do with anything? It's not a solution and has nothing to do with the problem.

How is the CNC Controlling the Spindle? The fact the machine is moving a spindle over a bed...

    Pertaining to this comment:

Re: Trouble getting Laser to Print at 1:1

  18. Re: makita router rpm constantly reving up/down any one had this problem?

Weird answer that makes no sense and solves nothing.....

I just want to add to my previous answer; the Variable Speed maybe part of the problem too, so maybe look at the Potentiometer, I've used...

Re: Trouble getting Laser to Print at 1:1

    That's a firmware/ settings issue.
A configuration and logarithmic problem, hence my conclusion, fix your settings either in Firmware or in the Software.

    Settings: 200 steps = 5/16 | 7.9375 mm

You need a Post-Script for the CAM.
What CAM do you use? Maybe look for a Tutorial or Guide by doing an online search.

Re: Trouble getting Laser to Print at 1:1

  24. Re: makita router rpm constantly reving up/down any one had this problem?

Well let's think first about what causes an Electric Motor to speed up or slow down, to me it's a no brainer... Answer: A variation in Power!
So... Dirty Power may cause the problem, not that Power...
