There are actually 2 plugins made but this is the better one here:
Mach3 plugin for Huanyang VFD | Le royaume d'éole
the problem is that both of them do export the actual rpm's value from the vfd...
I have not ran any programs yet, but how do you think the unexpected start would come from?
it has to be a fault on the code right?
is true, luckily that vfd does turn on without a direction, the relay has to work at least for one time then it is either fw or rev until it is off, so far so good i will keep an eye on it, if it did...
very true but i just did another trick that worked
the relay on that bob luckily is a spdt relay, they used 2 pins only, all i needed is to use the 3rd pin
which means when the relay is off it can...
thank you very much for the link but it is decided now, the version i have got was one of the very first ones in its line and it does not support rs485, that what the manufacturer told me
the hz difference issue is not critical now, the reverse is
i am using this bob here https://warp9td.com/images/BOB_Vendors/StepperOnline/ST-V2.pdf
it seems impossible to reverse using it as it...
I managed to let mach3 control the spindle via analog inputs
but i have 2 issues
1. for some unknown reason the max hz i can sent to mach3 is 47.1hz, this should be 50hz, i have already set...
I am not intending to change my controller
if you know a way to let mach3 lock feed/rev plz let me know, otherwise I will not bother to try
thanks
exactly that is what i am trying to say
sure, i have seen all these videos it works, but if the spindle is not capable enough or the tap is big enough there will be issues with only 1 pusle/rev for rigid tapping correct?
I dont see any...
Thanks
is it possible to single point thread manually on mach3?
I think more than one slot will be needed for rigid tapping to sync the rotation with the feed, but if I used this setup how the single point threading will work as well? how mach will know the start...
as mentioned single point threading
but to be honest rigid tapping can be another extra question, i am assuming it will be much more challenging , you think it can work with a single pulse / rev?
great, is that accurate enough?
thank you so much

I have got a 3 pin Photoelectric encoder like this
and i was wondering if it is possible to use it to encode my lathe spindle with mach3
but how the start of the single point threading will...
thank you very much for your effort in this great forum :)
I got the drive for a 3k rpm motor for a lathe, so the VC is working well for me
and like you said that vfd does not have the hardware for rs485, the company just replied to me
but the usb adapter...
there is indeed a lot about the modbus and rs485 in the manual, it is a very detailed 66 pages manual
but this page is telling me that this vfd does not have the hardware for rs485 although all the...
It appears to have quite a few options over the standard Huanyang!
exactly, and yes as i mentioned in the original post i tried both!
in my case do i need to use the +5v and GND pins?
I agree I find it not normal to solder wires but the manual is specific for this model
it is not a cheap vfd, it is a vector control vfd
check this from its manual

454944
this is the only RS485 pins i could found on that vfd
i soldered these wires to a terminal block so that i can easily access it
I have wired only the RS485 + and -ve, i am not even sure what the...
I have got a Huanyang P2 vfd 1.5kw
it works well in everyway but now I need to let it communicate with mach3 via its RS485
I have got the RS485 to usb adaptor (ch340 chipset)
its driver installed...
first of all my vfd is infront of me not in a far closed cabinet
secondly i would not keep looking at the temp all the time, you do that in the beginning of using it in different situations like...
"why you would want to know this anyway"
it will be the same reason for "read the temperature from the heatsink" but much easier
btw i have already placed a sensor on the heatsink a while ago but...
Thanks but still not working
I set pd170 = 0
and I tried every number with the pd171 and still temp = zero!
I got the same model and same problem
did you find a solution?
as a normal user the boards says clearly up to 36v
yes not a very good idea to get too close to its limits
one more thing here
lets assume pressing the reset button on mach3 take 1 sec
how...
I guess so John
just wanted to know if the issue was from something else other than its lifetime!
thanks for your input
I totally agree with you
I have got the board again and tested the diodes myself
it seems that the guy tested it did not check it at all, I found all the diodes working, except the blown one...
checking the power supply was the first thing I did check specially when the same thing happened again the next day/run
it is perfectly fine, 36v dead on
not to mention that I am only using a...
